That reminds me of the days when me mum used to send me out with two tanners to exchange for a shillin' . No fun on a january night on the Woodchurch . I finally came up with the idea of filing down halfpenny pieces so they would fit the meter . My plan worked a treat , I must have been the richest kid on the block . Happy days , until the meter man came to empty the meter   :sniffle  . My mum battered me with a shoe all the way from the Woodchurch to Upton .

:D

Floor cloth  :D  . You were lucky ,I would have loved to be "set upon" by the floor cloth.

What were you parents weapons of choice ? my mum dished out most of the punishment with a big wooden hairbrush or the previously mentioned shoe . My old man rarely raised his hand to us but when he did it had a big leather belt in it . He did however tie me by the thumbs to the washing line one day , left me there for hours ,(not kidding)
