whatever happened to proper bars & pubs? all pubs these days are the equivalent of chain-stores. brewers fayre, toby inn, harvester, wetherspoons, rat & parrot, all bar one, slug & lettuce, yates's, revolution.

I have a pub round here that's a proper boozer. Proper ales, served by a proper landlord, with proper patrons.

don't get me wrong i'm not @rsed about real ale pubs etc but have people got no feckin imagination about where to go for a night out? little individual places rock :buttrock

yates's etc do whatever the opposite of rock is

This one's really quiet mate. They have a regular clientel, and it's in the middle of some farmers' fields, just on the outskirts of town. Every week they get these folk singers in and have a sing-song.

That's the day I don't go.
