Pongolle and le tallec off

French duo Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle are poised to secure moves away from Liverpool.

The pair were brought to Anfield in 2003 by former Reds boss Gerard Houllier, but have not figured heavily in Rafa Benitez's plans since the Spaniard took over.

Le Tallec, who has been loaned out to St Etienne and Sunderland over the last couple of years, is to spend the next few days training with Ligue 1 side Sochaux.

Coach Alain Perrin is keen to cast his eye over the youngster, as he looks to strengthen the Sochaux squad before the season gets into full swing.

A one-year loan deal with the option of a permanent move is believed to be on the cards.

Fellow 21-year-old Sinama-Pongolle, meanwhile, has been tipped to join Osasuna of Spain.

Blackburn are keen to snap him up on loan again after he enjoyed a fine spell at Ewood Park during the second half of last season, but Osasuna are firm favourites to land the forward.

They are chasing a permanent transfer, but may have to take Sinama-Pongolle on loan for a year before being allowed to buy him.

I'm not too sad to see Le Tallec go but I always rated Pongolle as a good player to have in the squad. I didn't really think he would ever become a first choice striker but as a player to have on the bench I thought he fitted the bill nicely.

I thought FSP was going to be kept on at Liverpool FC. He should have been given a decent chance, i'm sure he'd come up with the goods

As for ALT,  with a decent chance maybe he could've proved himself in the EPL.

I'm not gonna shed any tears over the departure of Le TAllec as he's never really shown too much promise in my eyes. He's made himself out as a bit of a moody whinger that when given a chance does nothing to prove his worth to the team.
Flo Po has shown some flashes of promise when given the chance but I think he maybe starting to get frustrated at not being a 1st team regular and that would probably be the reason for moving him on. I would deffo keep hold of him as a squad player if we can't bring in another striker but i doubt he'd accept that. As it stands i think that they are both expendable assets.

I think its a shame to see any player with potential go, but RB i stamping the club in his own image.  These two have never looked the real deal, whether through lack of opportunity, or application.  As long as it brings in cash for players the manager does want I can live with it.
