I didn't want to add insult to injury right after the game.
There's always so much hype around the English national team [Oh we beat Andorra 5-0 blah blah] but when the big games come all the players go and hide.

Croatia are nowhere near as good as Hungary.

You're right we're much better.

I’ll rephrase it to 'were', you weren't as good as them fifty years ago.
We've only been an independent nation for about a decade or so. Now if you want to include the former Yugoslavia then that's a far different story.
Had Yugoslavia stayed up until '98 we could have challenged for the World Cup. Croatia alone had a fanastic group of talent let alone Serbia,Bosnia,etc..

Same here. Used to be quite patriotic for the national team. Can't watch them now. Boring.
The other week, was in the boozer with the lads in Town watching the England - Holland game and when Holland equalised, we all went bonkers becasue we all had a few quid on the draw. Got some funny looks off people but fuck them.
I can't bring myself to support a team containing John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Andy Johnson, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole. Bunch of cocks the lot of them. Completely put me off following England and wishing them well, and I would love to see Gerrard, Carragher and Crouchy a million miles away from the national side. Owen and Redknapp used to regularly get injured coming back from England games. It's not fucking worth it.
