Lfc tickets

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby weringo » Thu Nov 02, 2006 11:11 pm

Recently I finally got my fancard so I can get to some games at Anfield. Today I checked the LFC offical website for any ticket news and they still had some available against Man City. I tried to buy two but it said I can only purchase 1 ticket for this match. What is that about? All I wanna purchase is 2 tickets as I cant get to liverpool myself all the way from down south as Im only 16.

Is this just a thing when buying tickets from the website or is it normal that I can only purchase 1 ticket?

I am not sure if you have the wrong end of the stick as the City tickets only go on Monday (6th).

It is currently only available to PTS members.

Try again on Monday, and PM me if you need another fancard No. to use.

This is a similar problem to what I have, I don't live in the UK, and so cannot attend many games, but am willing to pay extra to have the option to purchase a ticket for both away and home and european games too, but it seems there is no way for a fan who is not attending games regularly to purchase tickets. Any ideas how someone like me can buy some tickets during the season??? :(

There is no reason why a non-loyal fan would/should/could be rewarded.

You should just do what everyone else does and pick up the phone on first days of sale.

A tip would also be to pick "non glamerous" ties, for instance the Pompey home game will not sell out until it goes to general sale.

Non-loyal, what because he doesnt make it to games and lives somewhere else in the world, that would make 70 % of us on these forums "Non-loyal".

Non loyal? does loyalty mean living 5 minutes away from the stadium? I always try to get tickets to home/away games but its near impossible without a season ticket which I cant get either because I cant travel 300 miles to Liverpool every week.

Leonmc

I am not sure how you can say someone is not a loyal fan. In my post I said I don't live in the UK. In fact, I have lived in 3 continents in the last 10 years and have probably managed to see about 80% of the reds games during that time.  BTW that is not easy when in the middle of the US.  All I am saying that I don't know how to buy tickets from the box office. When I have attended games I have had to pay scalper prices, which I would rather not do. What I am saying about European games is that it is easier for me to travel to europe rather than get to anfield and I wanted to know if there is a way to buy those tickets without having a fan card?

It's a difficult one. I don't begrudge diehards their tickets, but at the same time it's frustrating to be a guy from the north-west working in London, when I have absolutely no chance of getting tickets for away games in and around the capital.

Even the Luton FA Cup tie last year - I thought it'd be one of the easiest games of the season to get tix for, but it proved absolutely impossible without chancing it from a tout on the day.

It may seem unfair, but ultimately it's quite simply a case of supply and demand. Where demand for tickets exceeds the number on offer the club has to use some kind of method visa-vis distribution. Now I guess they could just do a ballot every week where all the applications get chucked in a hat and the winners are picked out at random, but this would be costly and impractical. So they employ a system whereby after the obvious allocation to season ticket holders fans who have a fancard get priority, as do people who attend matches regularly. No doubt there are various other ways in which regular attendors/local people can get their hands on tickets but it is and always has-been the way of the World.
My suspicion is that as Leon says, if you target the Charltons at Home or the Readings Away you will have some joy if you persist. Ultimately though, it's the price you pay for supporting a big club. Maybe non-loyal was a tad harsh though, I'll give you that  :D

What LeonMc has said applies also to me and I'm not offended.

If he thought you are non loyal in the sense of "not worthy" he wouldn't have offered fancard numbers of his own in the first place.

Loyal means you go to the stadium always, or many times. There are people who rarely misses a game. No matter if the game is against Reading or Manchester Utd, it's cold, or rainy. THey're there, no matter what.

And we like it or not, we are not. So in that sense we're non loyal fans. Nobody puts in question your love to LFC, it's as simple as there are too much people wanting to go to the stadium.

For the Spaniards that might be reading this forum, I've learnt that the best way to get a ticket are the Spaniards themselves. A mate I know just got tickets from Xabi Alonso by contacting his brother. Apparently he does this often to those who want to know Anfield!! Reina also uses to help.

No offence but I think you need to re check the definition of loyalty, someone who is loyal to Liverpool will always support the club no matter what, it has nothing to do with how many games you go to.

In a ticket thread it does you fuc.king numpty.

The point was made by hishhish "I don't live in the UK, and so cannot attend many games, but am willing to pay extra to have the option to purchase a ticket for both away and home and european games too, but it seems there is no way for a fan who is not attending games regularly to purchase tickets"

And I said that there is no reason why a ticket scheme which is set up to reward loyalty would allow non loyalty to qualify people for tickets.

People need to jump off their fuc.king high horses and stop with the "I'm as much of a fan as you are" horsesh.it everytime someone mentions it.

Get a grip.

If you dont go the game then you will need to work to get a fuc.king ticket.

If you do go the game tickets will be more easily accesible to you.

Fu.ck off

Its funny because theyre all the same, the fans with a season ticket seem to think they have some sort of aura around their head all high and mighty above the rest of the "other" fans
