Rick parry - The right time for a holiday?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Chelski had sacked Raineri and it is expected that Maurinho will take over. Maurinho was an outside candidate for the Liverpool manager's job anyway.

Parry has said:
"Things will be sorted out around the middle of June to late June. It's urgent to get it right.

"We can't rush into making the wrong appointment, but we don't have a lot of time on our side. As ever, I am not going to be pinned to a particular date. We will see how it goes and all being well will have something exciting to say.

"We did not want any of the muddying of the waters or the indignity of clandestine talks taking place while Gérard was still around, so we start now. One of the advantages of spending a few days away is that I get a clear head and perhaps a bit of time away from the phone to think it through."

In a shorter words:
"Don't bother me till my holiday's over!"  :D

Perhaps its kinda paranoid but me start worrying Benitez may be undone if Parry won't act quickly. ???

Mourihno has said he doesnt go back on his word, he appears to have made a deal with Chelsea.

We all knew Benitez had to give 14 days notice before we or anyone else could sign him.

This fits in with the Parry quote, "There will be an announcement about our new manager in two weeks," said Parry. "Further to that I do not wish to comment on speculation."  quote from this site

It seems most likely Parry will announce Benitez is coming to LFC mid June, although stranger things have happened.

I think that Benitez and Parry had agreed on the manager's post at Liverpool, and it was left for Benitez to sort out his resignation.

Because of this, Parry has gone on holiday. He can't be so daft as to go on holiday and hope that a hot candidate like Benitez will wait for him to come back and then resign and then only discuss about the Liverpool job.

To be frank, I wouldn't trust a word Parry says.

This after all is the man who promised the fans a year ago that LFC would go back to attacking football and that the fans would be on the edge of their seats with excitement!! What a joke.

I wrote to Parry over a year ago, calling for the sacking of Houllier. My letter was reasoned and I thought at the time, well thought out. Parry did have the courtesy to respond but his tone was impolite.

But amusingly he said.....''what is the point of sacking a manager when without having an agreement well in advance for a suitable replacement.....''. Hmmmm.

The more I think about it, the more certain I am that a deal of sorts is done.

Parry is muddying the water with his comments, as is Benetiz.

I'm sure that there has been some sort of oral agreement between Benetiz and Liverpool, and when Parry returns the finer details of the contract will be thrashed out.

Maybe if the specualtion had been about Martin O' Neill I might have been a bit more suspect of the rumours (as he was the obvious candidate up until a month ago) but a move for Benetiz is unorthodox and is coming from left field so the rumours must have some truth to them.

Parry claims now that he told Houllier 12 months ago that if the team didn't progress in 2003/04 he would be let go and that pretty much is what has happened.

I just hope he has a nice tan to compensate for the fans being left in the dark for so long ,we the fans don’t even register a close second on Liverpool’s new agenda ,the only  shred of truth we received was the Echoes  adamant insistence that Benitez was a cut and dried deal ,now is that the way to bridge the growing gap between club and fans ?

LFCs liason with its fans has been poor to say the least, parry/moores have not made any effort to keep us informed of whats going on with the managers appointment. The club should appoint an information officer someone like dalglish perhaps?   ???

In fairness you would hardly expect the club to reveal its hand until a deal is done.

No we wouldn't. But there is probably a bigger gulf between the board and the fans than ever before. Moores and Parry have adopted a very arrogant posture which was unthinkable in the days of Smith and PB Robinson.

They have adopted a seige mentality and between them, with Houllier stirring it up, I can't remember things being so bad and the management of the club being so out of touch with the fan base.

Personally, I have little confidence in either of them, in particular Moores, who is putting his own personal agenda before the club's.

How about Benitez has said he would like 2-3 weeks to recharge his batteries and try and adjust himself and family to the change before he is announced!
We dont know whats happening so why are we gossiping like old ladies saying this that and the other?
Parry would not disapear on holiday thinking i cant be bothered with LFC for two weeks!
He is although i'm sure alot of you will contest this a LFC fan and also a buisnessman if he just swanned of for 2 weeks leaving things up in the air he would get the old tin tack!
So lets just wait and see what is going to happen!
I admit i'm frustrated too as i want to know whats going to happen!
But its just like being a kid wanting his xmas presents early!
It will happen on the right day!
