Ticket fiasco - My liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby supersub » Mon Aug 14, 2006 3:05 pm

I was wondering if anyone else has suffered the same ticket problem as my brother and I.On the new season ticket renewal form there were boxes you could tick to guarantee you received tickets for all european games ,all fa cup games and all league cup games.Your credit card would be debited and the tickets put in the post.
We both ticked all relevant boxes and recieved a letter with our black wallets to tell us the 3rd european qualifying game was included.
The tickets for the Maccabi game never materialised even though the club are adamant they sent them via TNT.
After the FA Cup Final Ticket Fiasco,I find it incredible that LFC can't send the tickets by registerd post so both parties can have confirmation that tickets were sent and received.
We were told by the club to put our complaint in writing and they will try to determine if the tickets went amiss.I suspect they never sent them because we are talking two seperate delivery addresses ten miles apart,so coincidence or foul play seems highly unlikely.

Isn't TNT a "courier" company and all deliveries must be signed for ? Ask LFC for proof of despatch and delivery . Also worth asking you bank for advice on how to get back the money taken from your account (via you credit card) for items/services you ulimately didn't recieve.

At times you really do have to wonder whether the club could organise a piss up at the carlsberg brewery. First the fook up with the European shirts selling out too quick, the unfortunate situation with the cup final tickets (not really their fault) and now more problems with not anticipating the demand for new shirts. It's no wonder they've spent over two years looking for investment and the best part of 5 years trying to get a new stadium off the ground. :no

One of the excuses the ticket office tried first was the high volume of work they have pre-season,stating the issueing of new season tickets..duh! last year the only re-issuing of season tickets was for the centenary stand ,I believe. This season it was a case of send out black wallets(hardly priority) and issue the paltry number of new season tickets.Granted there will be demand for some fan cards but I know from my own company,if you have an increase in work-load ,then employ a few extra staff.
I wander sometimes if Rick Parry and David Moores sit their not realising the enormity of the Liverpool FC empire, with their penny pinching. How many times have you been at the ground in huge queues trying to get a ticket and half the booths are shut?
The kit saga last season is a prime example of the little business men (Moores/Parry) lacking foresight and balls to buy big when everyone and his dog wanted a slice of Istanbul 2005.

With my renewal forms Supersub we selected NOT to receive the tickets automatically as there is no advantage gained other than perhaps noit always having the tiem to ring the club and wait an inordiante amount of tiem to get through !

The Fan Cards loyalty comes first and we believe we will receive the tickets we wnat due to teh amount of games we have been in the past. Some fans are making the mistake of believing that this automatic system is giving them an advantage when in relaity the Fan card loyalty system still takes priority.

For the record I chose NOT to go to the Maccabi Game as LFC stated that the gamne would not count towards any loyalty in later stages of the competition ! ???

That's sh*t mate. How can they expect to fill the stadium, if going to cr*ppy games like vs Haifa doesn't build up your entitlement?

It just doesn't make any sense.

On a side note, I've always thought the current ticket office hotline needs more staff on it, as unless you're a bum or a manager, there's no way you can spend about 8 hours trying to get through.

Yes I AM a bum, but there's others out there who can't make the games they should because of this.

Besides - I can't go 8 hours without a sh*t, so I struggle now and then aswell!!!!! :D

I aint got a season ticket ( due to the ridiculous idea that you can pass on season tickets :(  ),  but me mates dad has four  and only goes the home games so he ticked the boxes and I get the tickets off him, no more queing up for me this season. Ours arrived to be honest supersub and we encountered no problems. On the downside it that the season tickets are in the Paddock, so no European nights for me in the Kop this year.

I queued up for two hours, and got into the game 5 minutes in after not receiveing our "Cup Ticket Scheme" tickets.

I was told they had been sent out, but had to queue with the others picking htem up.

I then had to suffer the indignity of the ticket office bod, then their manager, then the head honcho all questioning me as though I had stolen the tickets.

Finally got in the game late and my tickets that should have been sent out to me where in the hands of a cockney who paid £200 for the three from a guy outside the ground (despite the fact it was pay in).

The ticket office is badly run, but there are some absolute gems in there. I can name a few who have gone above and beyond.

Phoned the ticket office..claimed they sent out all the tickets;anyone who contacted them and said they hadn't received their ticket was invited over to obtain a replacement.I said weren't they concerned that so many tickets have so far failed to reach their destination and will this be an ongoing problem throughout the season.
Their reply was that it was Royal Mail who are ultimately responsible for the delivery, but there won't be any problem in the future.
My opinion is that the tickets were never despatched or there is still a theft problem in the link from LFC to Postman Pat.

Supersub

I wonder sometimes if Rick Parry and David Moores

Well supersub used wander (walk without an aim I think), instead of wonder!!!!!! :D

Sorry that happened to you supersub, but I don't understand their excuses, they have been managing the same amount of seats for quite some time!.

Also could you explain me please what's

We both ticked all relevant boxes and recieved a letter with our black wallets

The black wallet thingy? should I understand that you receive a real black wallet, or is it an english expression? (sorry if the question is dumb).

Whoever was in charge of that fiasco last week should be sacked. End of.

It's not that complicated with some forward planning. LFC is an organisation that is more fortunate than most in that all its messages and information can be broadcast through the Echo and local radio stations.

How about a message in Tuesday's Echo saying "Due to the late surge in ticket sales the LFC ticket office advise fans collecting tickets to either collect them in advance or turn up from 5.30 on Match Day".

That would have reduced the rush by 25% at least.

first of all good spot sabre

secondly every season ticket holder will receive a lovely black wallet to house their fan card and fixture list. It's a lovely black leather creation ,embossed with a Liverbird and LFC pattern.
