Rick the tourist - Summer holiday

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby supersub » Wed May 26, 2004 7:48 pm

Why does Rick Parry choose this moment, when the managers job is still undecided and the thai deal is in the balance,to take a 2 week break.I know everyone is allowed their 2 weeks, but I'd rather he took his when the work is completed, preferrably when the season kicks-off.

I would say now was the time for the club to get its priorities right and that means the fans ,and leaving us on tender hooks while they top up their tans certainly isnt the correct procedure.Once again an intuitive observation Supersub, did i mention im glad to be back

Its a crazy time for Parry to be going on holidays: he sacks the manager and then decides to bury his head in the sand while he should be trying his level best to snatch Mourinho away from Chelsea.

However, it could also be a smokescreen for him jetting around Europe after our new manager but somehow I don't think so.

I wonder if it is on his mind while he sits on the beach reading with a cocktail at his side.

I totally agree JBG but i also have a sneaking feeling Mourinho has a capacity to shock and distance himself from what people expect him to do,and if he aspires to achieve what Shankly and God Paisley accomplished he isnt going to do it at Chelsea he strikes me as a man who relishes a challenge

ITV teletext quote Mourinho as saying tonight that he has spoken to a club in England and has given them his word that he will sign for them and that he won't break his word.

I'm not sure what to make of that but it does put the ball back in Chelsea's court as they have been saying all along that they had a deal with Mourinho.

I couldnt imagine the outrage if he chose us over Chelsea there would be uproar but he's definitely got his own way of doing things ,he proved that when he waltzed away from his teams celebrations ,but lets not dwell on it because if Moores and co had not dithered a few months ago Mourinho would have crawled over on his hands and knees to manage us ,but once again our incompetence allowed him to slip the net
