In the Premiership? Surely experience has shown us that a players previous success in other leagues is no guarentee of continued success in the prem .

And if further warning was needed , HE'S FRENCH  :wwww   :D   :D   :D

Woof, Trezegol was born in Argentina.  :D

he was born in french, albeit his purely argentinian blood
he is french 'just' because he was born there when his father who is an argentinian footballer playing in french and his mother whom also coming along giving birth to him

BBC site has his value somewhere in the region of 4 million - Not sure where they get their figures from, but at 4 mill he would be worth a gamble for sure.

Valid point - but wage demands won't be as high as people think - Think about it, most contracts have a relegation clause to reduce wage bills, and I imagine that they would have laughed about it while they all signed on the dotted line.

Now they have been relegated, they may be in a position where they will accept reasonable wages against what they are getting today as refusal means staying where they are....Serie B for at least 2 seasons?

I'm not saying it is fact, but I don't think wages would be the issue

I don't know much about the bloke but must say on the occasions I have seen him I have been very underwhelmed by both his ability and commitment. On balance I'd look elsewhere, starting with an enquiry about Hernan Crespo.

Not over the moon about being linked with Trezeguet either.  Not a very physical player, not particularly quick or aggressive and unproven in the premiership.  On the positive he's got excellent movement and is a great finisher.  Major down point for me however is his mentality - never seen him perform in the big games I've seen him in and that's my concern.

It wouldn't hurt though to take him on loan and see how he does, he might just surprise us.  Especially if Benitez can't find any other available players for the right price that he's keen on.  Definitely wouldn't sign him outright straight away though.

David Trezeguet IMO would do good job for us.4mil not to bad for him.  I know Rafa has had his eye on him for some time so why not bring DT over.

4 mill would be his wage bill per season, rafa would loan him to give us more options but he isn'yt worth a big fee lets remember he was behind cissie in the french pecking order

Crespo is a fantastic player. Great finishing, fantastic technique, fantastic movement. There's two problems.

1. He's under contrat at Chelsea, and there is a bigger chance of hell freezing over now then it is of Chelsea selling a player of Crespo's callibre to a rival
2. He doesn't like the life in England

The reason Trezeguet was behind cisse was because David never proved himself in the French leagues and Djibril was popular among the french fans.

Trez is a class player not every player makes it at every club look at Veron ??? as much as it's hard for me to say LFC is not a bench mark for evey f@ckin player in the world, look at cisse never proved himself really but doesn't mean he won't get better or play for a team more adapted for his style of play.

Would be great to steal trezeguet, hes a class striker, proven goalscorer. Trezeguet, bellamy, fowler and crouch as our 4 strikers, thats good enough for me

if we can get Trezegeut at a good price, then i cant see how we can go wrong. His goalscoring record is excellent, especially considering he has been reguarly scoring in the italian league, and he is a far better option than Cisse. Even if he didnt work out for us we could easily off load him to another team for good money.
