Very bizarre night. The drummer in the band had a terrible tale to say tonight in practice, he returned from a barbecue on Sunday with his wife and baby to be confronted outside his house by a gang of lads who had smashed his neighbours car, luckily nothing happened and the lads backed off. Later on they came across his neighbour and beat him up leaving him in a fatal coma to be honest. Obviously my mate is upset but these lads had been roaming about all day causing bother and Im glad in a selfish way that he can well look after himself and its not him.

I was relating this story to my flatmate tonight after big brother

then a knock on the door and some commotion outside, two lad talking like Brad Pitt out of snatch said they were coming in to the house for a party, well we persuaded them to not come in and locked the door then went out as next door to me is a lovely pakistani family but they wear the traditional clothing and the beards etc and unfortunately drunk yobs seem to see this as an insult or something. Now the old man in the family lets himself into my house and sits down etc and I cant understand a word he says but I would hate to see him come to any harm

Luckily some more people from the street had come out but not the Rasta opposite which I was gutted about as me and him had words before with some drunks and he's a good talker if you know what I mean

well they were outside next door threatening to shove an axe through the Pakis head :angry:

as they said, well then the Old Bill turned up and a quick little bit of action resulting in their arrests and the big lad with a moustache three doors down chasing one of them up the street in his boxer shorts and slippers

Now I dont like the demonising of sections of society but something has to be done about kids these days, I was a bit of a tearaway in a Tom Sawyer type of way but tonight has mad me think that we should be tolerant of youth but also there has to be respect shown back and quickly before it gets worse and out of hand.

Im lucky as I can handle myself and the street is cool with people willing to get involved etc so its a safe place to live.

What gets me is this, am I getting older and losing my tolerance of youngsters or is this media portrayal kinda on the ball and they are worse and out of control.

Its not a chav white thing either. A gang of Asians gave me a stare a few weeks ago talking all Goldie looking chain and last month I was down Cardiff Docks took a short cut and four black lads came towards me and one asked for my wallet, I just laughed in his face and luckily he laughed back and said I was safe

What if I was smaller etc.

Im not a brawler and dont go looking for it but I reckon its bad, now people arent in general bad by nature so what the hell is going on. When I was a teenager if you gobbed off chances were you would get a slap, oh well rant over

Thing is, now you cant slap or you might get knifed. Same in all areas, little chavs more than likely got knives or guns or whatever so its not worth the risk. Luckily i dont get much aggro, well none really, but if i get shouted at i wouldnt shout back anymore, just not worth the risk.

My Olds say 'bring back national service' and while I don't really agree with it being compulsory like it was, I think it had alot going for it.
Discipline for one thing which now seems to have gone right out the window.
I watched that series a while ago about these guys who where petty criminals and had the choice of going into a 1950s, I think it was, army style camp or going to prison. Can't remember what it was called. But alot of them said it had opened their eyes and made them realise that they could make something of themselves and do something worthwhile, without necessarilly joining the army.
One of my uncles learnt how to be a chef during his national service and that became his career after he left.
I think it would probably do some girls good as well!
I don't know what's happening with some of today's youth and don't have all the answers.
It is certainly a tragedy for them and us. A sad sign of the times.

The programme was called Lads Army and it showed so called bad lads going through National Service in a fake 50's enviroment but where treated as it was real National Service. I thought it was a very good series as most of the lads came out with changed ways. And i think a new series starts soon.

I do believe that the Birtish Goverment are to blame for the way kids behave nowadays. Since the brought in the policey that you cant smack your children, kids are getting away with murder, literally. I know this will open a can off worms, so let me explain myself. I dont agree with kids getting beaten black and blue, but really dont think theres anything wrong with giving them a smack on the backside if they have done wrong. It never hurt me and I have turned out ok (I think).
If I got on like the kids that run the streets nowadays my dad would have killed me.
I really hope the fella in a coma gets better and the kids who did it are punished in the manner they deserve.

some teenage runt from an estate down the road has finally got an asbo and whatever else they get for terrorising the other residents and causing damage, a string of assaults etc etc, a proper little tw@t. in my day (god i sound like my dad) it would never have come to asbo's and all that bollox which he won't obey anyway; he'd have got a f*ckin good slap off some big bugger off the estate and thought twice about being a c*nt in future. but if that happened now he'd be straight down to the police and the big bloke would end up inside.

i think national service would probably be a good idea but let's face it it's never coming back. i would go for something like changing young offenders institutions so they are more like boot camps run in a military style, they would give these scrotes a bit of self respect and teach them how to respect other people as well. the ones who just can't be put straight should get put in a big mincing machine and made into sausages which we could sell to the french

The problem with these little wankbandits, as I've said before, is their parents aren't worth a sh*t.
They have no morals, brains or sense of responsibility, so when "ar lit-ul Gav" get's expelled from school for knifing some innocent sod, they instantly blame the "system", rather than themselves.

IMHO the only way to stop the influx of the "T*sserchild" virus, we must remove the cause.

My plan is this:

Whenever a social drop-out, dead-beat loser enters a hospital/Police station/Dr's office, they should be chemically castrated until such time as they have a job, shun crime, and stop being self-indulgent w*nkers, with no more right to live on God's clean Earth than a cockroach's afterbirth.

We'd soon see a decline in "hoodies".

Totally agree with you when u say that u r not for kids getting beaten black and blue, but a samck does no harm!!! But for the Government to say a parent cannot discipline his child is the most appauling thing ive heard!! (apart from when someone told me Liverpool had a neighbouring team in Everton - I mean call them a team)

Never hurt me cos then I knew I had done wrong and the fact that I got a smack really taught me not to do it again cos nxt time ur in that situation u say to urself right I can

A - go along with my m8s and do worng

B - behave and I wont get a tannin like I got last time.......I always chose B cos no one likes to get smacked by their parents cos it really makes u see that u have done wrong and offended them.

i'm seriously considering emigrating though, i'm f*ckin sick of england. i want to go to france or southern europe where standard of living is judged a bit more thoroughly than merely by the price of your house and the car on your drive

I agree things are getting out of hand these days.

Last year a couple of teenagers kicked a guy into a coma outside the corner shop at the top of my street. About 2 months ago another 15 year old jumped a pi.ssed 50 year old at the bottom of my street and ended up killing him. Now I'm thinking, if that had been my dad or someone belonging to me that that had happened to, the little fecker better have hoped he got put in jail, because I'd got hold of him it'd be me going to jail.

Kids have no respect for adults these days. Why? Because teachers and parents aren't allowed to give them a smack and therefore they don't fear them. For little @rseholes like that, the only people they respect are people they fear. I say give teachers the right to give kids a smack in schools again in addition to giving parents the right.
