Had the same problem meself woof the banners where either a red x or really taking ages to load, I installed Java VM again and everything hunky dory now  avav

OK , here's where it gets tricky bearing in mind that for me switching on my pc is still some kind of achievement . 

Did you have to unistall Java before you reinstalled it ? and where did you get Java VM from ?

I installed this new one then uninstalled the old one you can DL it here.
