lol i dont think rush could keep up with the pace of our game now :)

Was it Paisley who said the first two yards are in your head?

I'm joking about Rush, but I reckon that team yesterday in their day would have whacked Chelsea.

I remember Souness saying about 6 years ago that the Liverpool team he was in would have Manchester United.  It was at the time when people thought they were good after doing the treble.

I haven't seen it on this board and i'm surprsied that nobody has mentioned what Giggs said in the paper.  When discussing the rivalry with Chelsea, he tried to save face (after conceding the title) by saying United are the team that people want to watch, and it has been that way for '40 years'.

40 years?

So wasn't anyone interested in the tons of silverware we won in that time, and I am only young (20 years of age) and I remember Keegan's Newcastle being boss to watch, whatever their faults there were always goals.  Liverpool are always class to watch, and Arsenal play some of the best footy in the world at times.

That was just a rant on my part, back to the thread.  It was a pleasure to be in attendance yesterday.

John Durnin was a fringe player in the mid to late eighties, he made one first team apperance in '86.

He made up for that with the goal, it was sheer brillaince.  The funniest thing was that Peter Reid was kicking off at the ref after the goal as if it really was the final.
