RADICAL THINKER & SCIENTIST Dr Rupert Clambake in his book  DOGS THAT KNOW WHEN THEIR OWNERS ARE COMING HOME, (translated into Portuguese and published in Brazil by Objetiva). Provides futher evidence of WOOFS UNCANNY ABILITY to avoid being flagged off side .

"The many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics is just one of several ways of trying to deal with the entirely fantastical way WOOF SUDDENLY POPS UP IN THE BOX .My research suggests that WOOF morphs into a parallel universe ,ghosting past officials and opposing players before reappearing with the ball at his feet .Strangely enough, some referee's who are quite happy to accept the many worlds interpretation without any evidence at all are deeply opposed to WOOFS phenomenal abillty and flag him off side when technically he isn't .

The idea that the eukaryotic doggy offside trap is actually a colony of microbes was first suggested in the 1920s by American biologist Ivan Wallin (Fausto-Sterling 1993). The originator of the modern version of the D.O.T is biologist Lynn Margulis. In 1981, Margulis published the first edition of her book entitled Symbiosis in Cell Evolution in which she proposed that eukaryotic cell offside traps would infallibly trap canine goal hangers originating as communities of interacting entities that joined together in a specific offside order. With time, the members of this union became the organelles of a single host (Margulis 1993) that would regularly pick up on canine goal hangers drifting into offside positions. The organelle progenitors could have gained entry into a host cell as undigested prey or as an internal parasite and dangle out a paw before suddenly retracting it, shrugging their canine shoulders and smirking guiltily after which the combination became mutually beneficial to both organismsand less dodgy doggy goals were scored. As the organisms became more interdependent, an obligatory symbiosis evolved.

but was he interfering with play? ???  from my point of view sitting on yer @rse and licking your bollox whilst howling at the moon does not necessarily constitute interfering with play
