I remember about eighteen months back, I lived in Anfield at the time, just off West Derby Road, about ten minutes from Anfield if you're walking, about two minutes driving.  Loved match days.  Easy to get home.  Should have heard the Chelsea semi final though, you could hear the noise from my flat, I never had a ticket, my brother was there though......

Anyway, I went to get some fresh air for half an hour.  Day off work.  Quick pint and all that, you know.  Clear your head.

Called to a mate of mine who lives off one of them avenues off Anfield Road.  Ended up at the shrine first though for about twenty minutes just reading the names.

There are always cards there as well.  Friends, family, even anonymous cards just left there.  I don't know what happens to them, how long they are left there for before someone collects them.

Whether or not they are taken away by the wind and rain, to be tossed and blown.

I read them anyway and placed them back carefully.  It hits home.

Whatever happens to the stadium, whether we move or not, the shrine either goes inch by inch, brick by brick to the new site, or it's the only part of the current stadium that should stay where it is, and whatever type of enterprise they have in mind for the Anfield site, whether it be housing or retail, should be built around it.
