Gaunt wrote:Yeh don't run smooth sometimes for me either JBG. It's fine in cities and dungeons but as soon as i start to run around the forests i take a big performance hit. It is an amazing game with beautiful graphics and awesome gameplay though. I have just been ignoring the main story for a while and doing some missions. I'm a fairly high rank in the arena which is like the colliseum.

And the xbox 360 version is actually worse than the pc version. If you have a geforce 6800 card or higher the pc version is superior graphics wise. But thats not why its better. I keep hearing from all the xbox 360 players that the load times for them are far too long. In the Imperial city it can sometimes take up to a minute for some areas to load. I don't know about you but the most an area has taken for me is a few seconds.

Right i'm gonna have to get back to it. Day off work and i feel like being a lazy bugger.

Its a great game Gaunt, but the web is alive with mutterings of discontent from high end users, who have seen their machines humbled by Oblivion.

I had hoped to get very fast frame rates at max details and 1280 x 1024 but instead it merely chuggs along, with the occasional stutter outside.

Hopefully the game will be tweaked by its developers and the graphics card manufacturers will release drivers which improve performance.

Its a great game and I haven't even scratched the surface yet.

Just been watching the video review on Gamespot, they say that it's simply awesome and that their isn't any RPG game that comes remotely close, they say that only extremely high PC's can run it well and that the 360 version is as good, my mate bought it today so I'll email him tomorrow to get a review cos he's not a RPG fan but was so excited to get it, Gamespot give it 9.6 which is one of the best scores I've seen by them:

Iwata did make an anouncement concerning the Rev. They've formed a deal with Sega and Hudson that will allow more games to be downloaded and possibly all previous Sega games form the MegaDrive, CD and Dreamcast. And the name Revolution is likely to be ditched soon (because Ninty always use codenames) and the new console is likely to be named "Nintendo Go". E3 is looking likely to be the place where everything gets unveiled.

Its got absolutely incredible graphics but it doesn't run that well even on my high end system. It will run perfectly if you turn some of the details down, and it won't be at its best until its played on computers a year from now.

Optimization, optimization, optimization. They don't care about it anymore. I just loved the Morrowind games due to their depth (although I preffer games with parties like wizardry or might and magic) and I was thinking about buying it, but your report has been discouraging.

I have a fecking PIV with 3Ghz and a 256Mb card, that should be enough, but if it doesn't go well in your computer, I'd better not buy it. :(

Just out of interest, what is everyone's favourite game of all time? What's the 1 game that you feel has made you more whole as a person having played it? Personally, I'd go for Goldeneye purely for the multiplayer. Never gets boring, loads of different stuff to do, good characters, great weapons and hours of fun. After that would be Football Manager, Zelda (Ocarina of time) and probably Dawn Of War.

I know everyones on about this oblivion thing but just thought id add sumthing different as well

Anyone ever played Mafia? (ps2 or PC). Great game although EXTREMELY hard.
The new godfather is brill, im finding it hilarious to blow up things.
Fifa street 2 is meant to be good.

The new driver game, parallel lines, is a must for any former driver fan, as it is back to its best after the shoddy and glitchy DRIV3R. There is now no tanner, a whole new car list, better graphics and performance, better storyline (with two eras, 1978 and 2006), 10 more cars than before, and I think after DRIV3R the developers just decided to scrap the whole thing and start again. I would reccomend it, it is extremely similar to GTA San Andreas. So anyone expecting to load it up and find another tanner running about will be a bit shocked.
Plus you can do up cars and store them in your garage
