Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

advertising in football is obviously a huge business nowadays, I can't help  wondering if the electronic advertising hoardings that you see in some top stadiums would increase revenue.

They are far more attractive than the standard, and presumably allow for more advertising. Personally i don't like them because i find my eyes drawn away from the game every time it changes. but lets face it, money rules.

Would it be a good idea to get them put in? maybe just behind the goals so whenever Cisse gets the ball we can have an arrow pointing him to where the goal is...

I don't believe we need these advertising boards. I go to Anfield to watch the boys play, not to look at advertising boards.

I think they're absolutely horrible, and to be honest are so distracting I'm surprised they're allowed.

does anyone know how much extra money can be made from them? IF it is alot i would imagine that they will be considered for the new stadium....

do you stand by alot of windows as well watching things blow around while people make you afternoon soup.

we are behind on thing like advertising and our score board looks like robbed from the five a side pitches in everton valley

but how can ypu start a tread and include the fact that you drift away during the game and not expect abuse.  please don't tell me you take your bird to the footy as well!!

i bet we don't actually make a lot of money from the boards, except maybe from the biggest advertisers who would insist on a static advert anyway, instead of having one which swaps between theirs and somebody else's. i don't want them at any cost though, they look feckin stupid

Electronic hoarding would cost more, firstly they are more expensive to buy and setup, and secondly, you've now got an increase on the electricity bill!

We will be getting plenty of money from the advertising hoarding's we've got, beside's that, the electric one's are distracting as you tend to find yourself watching it scroll to see what ad come's up next.

some of those elctronic boards are just bizarre. i dunno but it must affect the players when there is a digital car driving around the pitch non stop.

just gimme the normal boards, they'll do me... but i wonder what ketsbaia thinks of the new ones?  the odd foot goes through them u think?

I absolutely hate the things - they naturally draw your eye away from the game (i imagine they can be quite distracting for the players as well sometimes) and theyre fookin' pointless over here with our matches mostly played during the daytime and when the sun gets on them you can't see anything on them. I you are gonna have changing advertising boards use the more conventional scrolling up and down ones that were at the side of the pitch on saturday with all of the FA cup sponsors on.

I'm told they play havoc with epileptics when they appear on televised games as well. I bet if enough of them clubbed together and bombarded the main broadcasters, they could get them banned.
