If I had to choose which one to chalk off, Crouch's or Lampard's, it is definately going to be Lampard's, and I'm not being subjective. His goal took a MASSIVE deflection off a Fulham defender's HAND and had it been a clean shot, the goalkeeper would have saved it comfortably.

wayne rooney scored one in the euro`s against croatia or someone where he wellied it, it hit the post, travelled about five yards hit the keeper and then went in. no one in the press mentioned taking that goal off him!!
crouch is one of those players the press like to hound and this -he only scores disputed goals - is an angle they like to write about as a follow up to their - he cant score at all - story. i couldnt care less who scores as long as its in the oppositions net.
peter shouldnt get hung up on numbers, he was bought to link our midfield to our attack and its working well at the moment.
it wasnt so long ago that heskey and owen were letting balls bounce off their shins and our midfield`s main plan of attack was to play balls back to hypia and carragher to hoof it aimlessly forward. against newcastle we played some of the best passing football i`ve seen at anfield since the days of barnes, mcmanaman, fowler and redknapp but unlike that silky side this one can defend and we dont pass it for the sake of it without end product.
what a manager benitez is.

As far as i'm concerned, if the original shots on target, whoever hits it, its there goal.

It's getting ridiculous

I get the feeling that this will stand as an own goal, with it rebounding off the post then into Given's shoulder then into the net, it will stay as an own goal.

Having said that, I don't think Given or Crouch deserve it to be an own goal though. Crocuh played very well also I felt that Given was the only star in an otherwise dismal Newcastle performance. The Geordie fans don't deserve such a non-performing team like Newcastle. If we didn't have Reina I would be calling for LFC to sign Given.

If the panel decides its an own goal, they must have been playing too much Winning Eleven.

Are you kidding? Own goal by GK? I didn't know :censored:il I read this thread and what the Fu(k? If that wasn't Crouchy's goal then I don't know what is? It was a direct shot on goal, partially saved by the GK and went into the net from the rebound off Given's shoulder. I guess the stupid goal panel need to find something to review so that people would know they are doing a job. Its a waste of money, how difficult it is to determine a goal... This really puzzle me..... ???

TBH i think it was an own goal, the keeper saved the initial shot, the ball came of the post and rebounded onto shay givens shoulder and spun into the net, now dont give me stick over this every one has the right to their view of the game, i do like to see crouch  score, but this time it was an own goal.

Even if it did touch Given, it's still Crouchie's goal. How does Lampard get his goals credited when half of them are deflected shots?

For instance, yesterday he had a shot on goal, deflected off a defender and went into the net. They gave it Lampard, not an own goal.

yeah lampards a tw@t and a hugely overrated player. Everytime the ball comes to him he shoots, thats why he scores so many goals, How often do you see lampard doing all the other jobs like Gerrard does? gerrards the far superior player but no-one seems to see it

His goal against Newcastle was definitely DEFINITELY his goal. It was goalward bound, Given tipped it onto the inside of the post where it spun in, even if it did hit Given a second time to go in it was still Crouch's goal, he headed it on target and the keeper could not save it. That simple.
Wonder if they'll try and take tonight's goal away from him? Now he has the confidence of 6 goals in 6 games I can see him go on to bang in 20 or so, he really is good isn't he? I mean really, he is good. What I am trying to say is that Peter Crouch is really very good. :p
