No surprise there then; he was bound to get it as the whole of the media bum off him so much i'm surprised the stupid knob can sit down at night. I'd have thought that winning the premier tournament on the worlds no.1 footballing continent against the cream of football clubs with a squad lacking strength in depth and without a bottomless pit of money was more of an achievement than winning a league that is only realistically being contested by 3 or 4 teams.
If all of the awards were voted for by the public instead of 'A BOARD OF SPECIALLY SELECTED JUDGES' we might have seen a much more palattable result. It's only a BBC award anyway; i'd rather win the WCC next sunday instead.

Bollox to the BBC.

Yes you will. Knocking out Juventus,Chelsea over two legs and comming back from 3-0 at half-time against a world class team is far better than anything the cricket team will ever do.

Australia were the invincible force in cricket for ages and England hadn't beaten them for like 20 years. and it's not flash in the pan they had to play 25 entire days of sport to win it.
I would still have loved liverpool to scoop all the awards but I think the england team edged it really.

The cricket team got it cos the BBC is for puffs and cricket is their game. The working mans game is still footy and we just aint going to get it. How a game of bat and ball that no fecker understands aside from a freaking toffy nosed minority can win any kind of award is beyond the sane majority of this kingdom. Our lads should have won the award for sure, and in any case, cricket just sucks period  :buttrock

interesting point. I think in terms of players rugby is still the toff sport, football is still a working mans sport and cricket is (and always has been) a mixture between the two. However in terms of the average fan/viewer both cricket and football are predominantly middle class sports nowadays. Clubs like liverpool, newcastle, man city still have a stronger working class support but obviously at the other end clubs like arsenal and chelsea have mainly middle class supporters.

the BBC was never going to pick a team from a city over something the country achieved this way they know they keep most the country happy, as for the coach award going to mourinho, its proved exactly why this sh!t means nothing to me.

Hi Gary , using your BBC theory mate ...why didn't the England Cricket team coach get the managers award then ?

The reality is that Liverpool have never enjoyed a favourable press. I actually quite like that although it winds me up as well but choosing between having Gary linekar and Co gushing over you like a lovestruck teenager over winning Europe's top homour against al lthe odds in your clubs first season with a new manger I know what i'd choose.

By choosing Mourinho the BBC are affectively saying the Premiership is more important than the Champions League but when you look at the BBC's coverage of the CL ( NIL) against their coverage of the Prem (LIMITED)then it isn't difficult to see where their loyalties lie :Oo:

Like i said, i dont really get the sh!te and fuss over this, what do the BBC know in terms of the champions league and Cricket, they showed neither, the Mourinho award is a strange one, but im guessing Abromovich probably bought him it for Christmas  :D
