Anyone been reading Kewell's recent comments about paying back Benitez's faith in him? About being "BACK" & "IN LOVE WITH LIVERPOOL". Well a fit Harry can only mean one thing to my mind & thats a January transfer to Villa or even better overseas. You see I was like all red men when Kewell signed, he was the missing peice of the jigsaw Houllier was building. The only thing we didnt realize was that the jigsaw Houllier was building was his jigsaw of doom & unemployment! Now Benitez looks to be building a team that can defend & entertain in equal measures, Kewell looks to be a rather expensive & luxury item that we really do not & never needed. Look to Zenden or Riise to show you what Rafa wants in a winger/sided player & that is one that works hard for the whole game, not when fancy takes him. We can only have maybe one complete "Flair" player & in Benitez's mind that looks to be Garcia. I know I'm knocking a Liverpool player (BOO HISS, I hear it every time) but I'll be at the game tomorrow & I'll sing my heat out whatever the case as will the usual suspects that are always around but bad player can not be excused if they are Liverpool players. I want us to win the league no scratch that I want us to win every game ever & letting players like Harry £67grand a week Kewell get away with his inept attitude time & time again cant go on. YNWA

He deserves one more chance, he's starting to play a lot better, and he knows if he doesn't produce, Rafa will "get shot" of him.

Do we really need naother Kewell thread though? there is several already on the front page.

Perhaps but when he has played recently he hasnt played badley at all. he set up Cisses goal at Anderlecht and set up what was a certain goal for Stevie on Wedsnday. I think we should wait to see what hes like over the next few games to decide wether his money is best spent elsewhere. Rafa knows that Villa are keen to take him on to link him back up with O Leary but......thinkgs take time anyway its no point telling him now " sorry mate your off" as the transfer window isnt even open yet is someone would be injured i dont think a dejected Kewell would make a good spot filler. Bertter to keep him happy and playing to "show him off to possible suitors" as we did with Baros before he left.

Did you look at the threads and think to yourself...i need to have one of my threads in the most recent list, and so created this ?

There are probably about 3 other threads already going further back slating Kewell, judge started one not so long ago.
Why not post on that ?

Also like when judge started his thread the timing makes no sense, what has he actually done wrong recently (other than battle hard against a serious injury)?

Every Liverpool fan is disappointed with the contribution Harry has made since he signed, but to be fair he has had a nightmare with injuries and besides the hair it pleases me to see him back playing.

Kewell is a problem in so far as his wages are so high it would be difficult to offload him.

My own suspicion is that many within the Liverpool camp would be happy to see Kewell go, particularly the Chairman and the board. However, I also believe that the Liverpool hierarchy understand the difficulties that would be involved in offloading Kewell.

I also think that Benitez fancies Kewell as a player and is prepared to try and get his money's worth from him. The story has it that when Benitez took time off management in 1999 and toured England he attended a number of games in which Leeds played and was apparently very impressed with Kewell (then again, we all were back then).

If a club were mad enough to come in for Kewell and agree to take on his wages in January or next summer, my own opinion is that Liverpool would probably cut their losses on him. However, I don't think Benitez is prepared to farm Kewell out like El Hadji Dioff or Bruno Cheyrou and instead will perservere with Kewell. I think its a situation where Liverpool will sell Kewell if they get a decent offer for him and in the absence of such an offer, they will perservere with him.

This is his 3rd season at Liverpool.

Season 1

HK started really well, scored a lot of goals and then got injured.

Season 2

Suffered 3 injuries, each time, probably brought back too early as the club was in "injury crisis" with the medical table taken with, Gerrard, Alonso, Cisse and others.  Brought back again for the Champions League Final and we all know what happened there!!

Season 3

He has had the right medical procedures/timings.  In reality this is the first time we have had a fully fit Harry Kewell since halfway through his first season as a Liverpool player.

Now is the time to se how good he is.  To get rid of him in January would be a huge mistake.Harry Kewell could solve all our left hand side problems.  Lets ee him as a new signing and hope he repeats som of the performances in a Leeds shirt.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Also, his second real international since injury he performed brilliantly.

If he gets back to his old goal scoring ways, there is no reason we cannot win the premiership next year let alone this year.

They seem to be bringing him back very carefully now as the Socceroos and Liverpool and worked together for his recovery.

Gonzalez is a leftsided player and I think Rafa will choose him over Kewell, we owe Kewell nothing as he hasn't exactly bust a gut for us when he's been on the field.

I was thinking this morning I haven't been to a game for ages where the Kop has sang "Harry, Harry Kewell, Harry, Harry Kewell" in the 'Daddy Kool' tune, that to me sums it all up cos he never gives 100% even though he claims he loves the club so much, a phone call from Spain and he'd be there like a shot!!!!  :(

What exactly are, are left hand side problems, we have warnock, risse, garcia, zenden, kewell and gonzalez to come, the only problem to the left hand side is a certain left back who hopefully wont get a game again.

This is getting beyond a joke now,  isnt there enough Kewell bashing topics on the go?
If the Harry Kewell that we seen for Oz starts performing like that for Liverpool we have a hell of a player on our hands.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Argh!  I can't stand it!  Which Kewell thread do I post on?!

I'd just like to say that although I think Kewell is a slacker and deserves tarantula's and scorpions pouring on his head, I watched the Road to Istanbul the other day and he played his part in the highlights.  He definitely showed flashes of his Leeds form.

Thank you for your time.

ok people from wat i read so far i have concluded that

Kewell is undoubtedly a talented player

so far he has played well when given the chance

he doesnt look sharp at the moment but u can see he is improving

but

he is injury prone

and when injured 67k a week is getting wasted

and then its back to the drawing board for the gaffer

when kewell is fit benitez does tend to play him and he i would say he is in his plans because he has the talent to take liverpool further (top marks for the pass to gerard) and ive also noticed him using both his feet which i think he has been practising on

but if the guy is to get injured again the good mr kewell, but till january he has plenty of time to prove himself

so fellas let time be the judge of kewells fate
