Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Just posting it cos I think he was unfairly treated by Houllier and cos of his kind words.

Aboubacar 'Titi' Camara says Guinea's place in the African Cup of Nations quarter finals will be one of the highlights of a career that is still tinged with regret at leaving Liverpool.

Camara left Anfield under a cloud in December 2000 after falling out with Reds boss Gerard Houllier, which prompted him to hand in a transfer request and a subsequent move to West Ham.

The former Marseille, Lens and St Etienne forward said: "At Liverpool, I was lucky enough to be playing for a great club, but unfortunately things didn't go well with Gerard Houllier.

"I would have liked to have continued my career there, but that's football, that's destiny.

"The memories I have from Anfield will stay with me right until my final days," said the 31-year-old.

Titi left West Ham and was playing for a team in Saudi Arabia called Ittihad. He has now left and I don't know where he went. He might have retired.

Camarra would have been a hell of a player had he stayed at Liverpool.

However it didn't work out for one reason or another and he wanted to leave. His loss at the end of the day!!

Titi really sunk without trace after he left Anfield although I saw him play (a tiny bit) in this year's African Nations Cup.
