The ease at which Arsenal cut through our static Team in that fateful second half, were all our frailties and apparent weakness'es were so glaringly exposed,was a real eye opener
for me personally .Ive watched Liverpool numerous times this season and although we were distinctly average against poor teams i always assumed it was mainly players being utilised in different positions,and a general lack of effort barr Gerrard on every one elses part ,but i was genuinely embarrassed by how inept Liverpools attempt to hold on to a lead actually was,i watched Arsenal glide while we were in slow motion ,and i watched our collapse in the company of gloating Cockneys from the clock end at Highbury many times these same lads have come to Anfield in my company, but never had i watched my team swatted aside like an annoying mosquito ,never had i been lost for a comment ,after all the Mancs came to Highbury and their defence even though criticised held of Arsenals potent attack as did Chelsea ............and then theres us ? anyone else travel to Highbury and has'nt been able to lift their head since

Beergoggles, very embarrassing in the 2nd half but at least we had the grinning cockney tw#ts worried until then. There's a huge gulf now between us and them which can only be rectified by a "new broom sweeps clean" aproach. New manager, get rid of a few of the dead wood players (Biscan, Diao, Smicer etc) and get the "maybes" playing at 110% to se if they are indeed good enough (eg. Diouf, Murphy, Cheyrou).

My firm opinion is that a lot of the players who look a bit s##t from time to time could have a renaissance under a manager who can motivate them and instill them with a bit of pride to wear the red shirt. Get rid of the manager? Yes. asap. Let's not be so quick about getting rid of players - give some of them a chance to play for a new manager and play in their natural position.

Personally I'm not overly worried about the Arsenal result, it's the games against the so-called mid table sides I think we should be more worried about.

Does the lack of any response seriously imply that no one on this forum went to Highbury ,then i can assume i am alone in my predicament, ANYONE got a valid opinion then,then again its not like i regulary attend away games its only my second this season what with work ,its just that i travelled to London full of optimism to meet up with old mates who are Gooners and was looking forward to the banter and stick we regulary
dish out ,but never have i felt so bereft of conversation i was sick to the pit of my stomach,10 years of meeting up for LIVERPOOL V ARSENAL games and there have been some classics ,but this was the first time ive seen us rollover ..............Biscan has the demeanor of a kid on his first day at school,totally lost and FU*K did Henry know it ,Gerrard was again immense but his forays up front constantly left our midfield seriously lightweight,and Ljundberg thrived on the space,Henry was class but his surges towards goal should have been closed down like Gallas did so effortlessly for Chelsea allowing Terry and Makellele to nullify Vieras runs,listen 'are you Tottenham in disguise is not something i wanna here again ,quite simply we were dismissed as not even close

The arsenal game is over and moaning about the result wont change anything. I also was confident we'd get a win but Arsenal proved to be the better side. I seen the match (great first half) I thought they were the better team especially in the second half.
And Henrys second goal was a joke.

Anyway as I said moaning about the result wont change anything. The arsenal match is now the past and we look forward to the charlton game it is a game we should be looking to win (if we want Champions League football next season).

Woolyback what was so discrediting was that Arsenal always had that extra gear in reserve ,and you knew it ,i realised when that second half eclipsed that we had given everything our team could and it was so poor compared to what Arsenal produced in the second period they literally swept us aside with contempt and it left me empty i can honestly say the gulf is widening every season

I agree with Red Beer Goggles, we are simply not in the same league as Arsenal at present and you suspected they could/would step it up an any time. Tactically GH got it horribly wrong with his "Score once and Sit back" philosophy. I acknowledge class when i see it as i did and When we played Arsenal 2 seasona ago at Anfield , the KOP were so impressed with Arsenal's first half performance they applaued them back onto the pitch second half !!!!!!. The same happened a couple of seasons ago whe Barcelona outclassed us at Anfield 3-1. You can argue we got a 2-2 against Arsenal and could have scored at 1-1 against Barca but in your heart you knew we were up against a better team on the day. The same was true oN Friday

The Arsenal game is over ,get on with it unbelievable your ignorance astounds me ,our season is over it was when supporters accepted mediocrity ,when finishing fourth was held up as an achievement,4th place is nothing and that my informative friend ,is proved in the company were currently amidst ie Birmingham , Newcastle ,illustrious names massive clubs NO,so Dr Liverpool i guess you should get another perscription or a dose of reality

Look I'm quoting someone else now (but i dont know who)
Games like arsenal at highbury will not cause us to finish below 4th. But games like loosing to soton or drawing with leiceter will.
I agree with you that 4th place is nothin but its all we can hope for at the moment.

We also applauded Valencia's slick passing when they beat us in the Champions league that was a gulf in class ,Valencia were awesome Aimar supreme, and the Kop knew it ,we stood and watched in awe at their one touch passing ,i personally think we should cherish them moments ,because speaking with genuine clarity, i scarcely believe we will witness them for a while again such has been our fall from grace ,i hope im proved wrong ,good teams have auras Liverpool currently have a vaccuous hole that seriously needs sealing before our club is swallowed up , and a long line of glorious tradition is sent spiralling into obscurity YES its that SERIOUS

What is it with football fans and their inability to recognize genuine class and (I hate to say this ) superiority

We sometimes forget that football is about entertainment. In what other area of entertainment would you pay £26-£35 and be happy if the show wasn't up to scratch ? I was at Arsenal on Friday and turned to my mate near full time and said" There's no shame in getting beaten by this lot today, if it didn't hurt so much i'd feel quite fortunate to be here and witness a performance like that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roll on the days when other clubs fans are talking about LFC like that !!!!!! Walk on .... With a LOT of hope in your heart ....

its going to be a long way back though Dalglish ,from grass roots level and i dont think the majority of supporters are willing to accept the problem is major
i cant blame them after all faith is something to hold onto but the whole infrastructure just does'nt sit right with me ,things are afoot as they say and the supporters need to realise its going to be an uphill struggle to attain something even resembling agreat team once more sad but becoming more and more apparent every season

I'm inclined to agree with your assessment mate. maybe losing a few of the glory fans isn't such a bad thing . I am here for the long haul and I suspect your the same, you can change your job, car, house, even the Mrs but you can't change your football loyalties and the love of your Mother LOL :laugh:

Last season i laughed at Newcastle's aspirations for the future ,their supporters expected to win at least a major trophy ,where do them goals come from its not as if Newcastle are habitual cup winners or have ever been in the past ,but the expectations of the fans is limitless ,so when a team that have gorged greedily on success and have an unsurpassed greatness a team steeped in the fine tradition of winning ,and winning with passion and style,so when we are constantly subjected to the frail and heartless performances of our current side week in week out ,we have no right to expect anything not even 4th and that is the truth hurtful as it seems ,Stevie G although an awesome force in midfield ,will if left unaided soon be a spent force ,Newcastle were valiant and adventurous against ARSENAL,yes the same ARSENAL that tore through our defence on Friday ,i used to see Titus Bramble as the worst defender in the premiership well theres a player in a much coveted red jersey who would run him close:(
