If we draw 0-0 against Birmingham this week, and 0-0 against Chelsea the following week, would it be fair then to say we definitely have a goalscoring problem.

I know lots of members on here continually give our strikers a hard time. Me included.

But I'm Just trying to set some sort of benchmark, because, altough we are not conceding goals, the beauty of the game is putting them away.

Mate what are you talking about  :D

and if we don't score all season then I think it would be safe to say we need a new formation/strikeforce  :p

So if we draw  our remaining games 0-0, but win the last one 1-0, were OK?

Thats 37 points, mmmmm could be a tough season. We should stay up.  :p

:D

Just wanted to now what is acceptable in Lpool fans minds before we can genuinely start bit*ching.....AGAIN      :lookaround

The way Chelski are playing at the moment any kind of draw against them would be a decent result. Birmingham on the other hand are a team we really should beat and i believe we will. They are at home so we shouldn't take anything for granted but we do have players that can score goals. If we got a 0-0 draw at birmingham it still wouldn't be the end of the world. I mean last year we seemed to be giving 3 points to every other team we played away (we gave birmingham 6 points). Loosing 5-4 to birmingham would i suppose prove we were capable of scoring goals but i'd prefer 0-0 any time.

What is acceptable is the amount of clean sheets and the fact we aren't losing games. I've been extremely impressed defensively this season and long may it continue.

Joaquin, Gerrard, Sinama-Pongolle, Crouch, Riise and an on form Luis Garcia can do the business at the other end with link ups from Sissoko and Alonso.

I genuinely think this team is 1 world class player away... mentioned above.

How much would we get for Cisse, Kewell, Kirkland or Dudek and Traore?

My thoughts exactly Stuart, I still think that Joaquin is the missing link and unlike other overated players I think we should break the bank for him.

If you look at Chelsea last season, although Drogba got a few goals - he wasn't prolific, they got a lot of goals from midfield (particularly Fat Frank).  If we can get the whole team chipping in, like they did I would be a lot happier than a new improved strike force.  Injuries can wreck your season if you depend too much on one or two guys to get the goals, as we're finding out now our strikers aren't enjoying the best form of thier lives.

Cisse just needs a Premiership goal or two, but its unfair to point the finger at just the strikers when I feel that the whole team needs help out.  Things are just a little stagnated right now, and once we get the ball rolling we'll get the goals.  Last season Gerrard and Garcia got 13 each (I think) - so there ARE goals in the team.  As Rafa says they will come.  Until then, at least we aren't conceding.  We got two against Betis, three against CSKA, so it isn't like we've had a total drought either.

Cheers

Tom

He broke Roy Keane's foot... just for that he should get a new contract and the freedom of the city.
