It is not just about transfers.

I'll rephrase then, I think he's too soft in the transfer market
andy_g wrote:yeah, parry is way too soft. he should have had parry and owen in a headlock and banged their heads together until a deal was agreed. then he should have gone and wrestled perez to the ground until he accepted 8 million.
then he should have had the liverbird tattooed on his bell-end to prove his toughness and loyalty to the club.
but seriously, the guy (along with the manager) has just saved us from spending millions on a player with dodgy motives. i call that tough - not giving in to demands. at the end of the day, the chairman does not have the final say about a player signing or not - that decision resides with the player and his agents. if they say no, then no amount of breastbeating by the chairman is going to change a thing.
parry is doing a good job. and i'd rather have a dignified, honest and supportive chairman than someone out to make a name and a buck.

They are now looking to get him off the books and want us to pay £16million for the same footballer they would only pay half that for. Parry is not perfect, but for us to shell out that would have been ludicrous. The rose tintent glasses and sentiment had to go in this case, we may have wanted him back, but only for what we sold him for. That would have been fair and reasonable. Madrid where playing it tough as they always do and unfortunately its harmed Owens intentions. He left to win trophies and finds himself in Newcastle, a club without silverware for 50 years. Its not for Parry or Liverpool FC to bail him out of asituation that he himself manufactured a year ago. Remember, Parry offered Owen a record contract 12 months back which he would not sign. Owen has learned the hard way and its not the fault of Rick Parry or anyone else at Liverpool Football Club for that matter.

I think Parry is too soft and to take the club forward we need someone more cut throat
