Well done on getting through to the group stages. A cheer went up at the SoL when the result came through.

And it was about the only thing we had to cheer all night!!!!!!  :(

It is essential we draw Panathinaikos in Pot 2, Lille/Sparta Prague in Pot 3, and Artmedia/Rosenberg in Pot 4.

That game was one of the worst games I've seen in a while, maybe ihave a short memory, but the euro champs should not play like that EITHER WAY with the quality we have. NOT GOOD ENOUGH  :no

yeah we don't exactly perform like champion but i think that rafa got his eyes on the supercup. anyway we got into the group stage and that what matters.

now it will be interesting to see "the best team in merseyside" against villareal.
Bill Shankly after beating Everton in the '71 cup semi : "Sickness would not have kept me away from this one. If I'd been dead, I would have had them bring the casket to the ground, prop it up in the stands and cut a hole in the lid."

If at the start of this week you were offered...

Win v Sunderland, Qualify for Champions League with no major scares and Win Super Cup

...you'd have taken it.  Now all we have to do is beat CSKA Moscow, but our chances have increased because we didn't play all our first team last night.  Personally I don't care that we were beat last night, it was meaningless because only the aggregate score counts.

yeah, it's good to get through and to get 3 points against sunderland, but we can't continue playing like that. Not bein funny but it wasn't like we were missing the whole of the first team either. We had sufficient amount of experience out there on the pitch to do the job properly.
I DO CARE. It was a good opportunity to sharpen up further for the prem aswell.

Im still optimistic for the Super cup providing we pull our fingers out tho.  :;):
