Manure did look good - but only IMO after they brought Ronaldo on - in the 1st half there wasn't many decent goal efforts, and Villa might have scored themselves, (that might be wishful thinking on my part, but I'm trying to be objective

) I just hope Ferguson carries on with his deranged idea that Fletcher is a good player

Well we created and defended ok however we could not finish, Morientes and cisse missed a host of chances it should of been 2 - 0 as cisse wasnt offside (it was close) but it should have been 2 or 3 nil before that anyway. Im happy with that amount of chances we seem to be creating but i cant say i am happy with the lack of finishing by two international strikers. Im looking forward to crouch coming back so at least we can see if he can do any better but I still think that Owen is a must with his finishing ability.

Summary

Im happy with general performance (7 shot on target 9 shots off) as well as the defensinve (they had 2 shots off target all game) but not with upfront 15 atempts and 1 goal.

Oh it was never a straight red card a booking defo for the intent in the barge over of Luis Garcia but a red card was harsh. What are refs on thats like closing 10 red cards this season.

mr faith needs a little assurance after two defeats. felt that losing 1-0, playing with ten men, getting 5 corners, banging in some neat crosses and getting 3 shots on goal, 1 on target are signs of hope. As a newly promoted team, can't blame him.

To me, it shows the gulf between the two teams. While we have enjoyed 55% of possession, 15 shots on goal, 6 on target, winning 1-0 and creating some best chances (that sadly has not been put away), we are at best contented - not with the way we played, but more of the result, a win is a win.

Thought Sissoko and Finnan had a good game. Our frontline is a concern now. Judging by the chances that we had, not putting them away is nothing less than a crime! Cisse, seems to lack focus all throughout the game. Apart from the disallowed goal which should have stood, he has misconnected (in front of goal as well as down the flanks) so many times its shocking! With baros leaving and both cisse and moro firing blanks... who shall we turn to?

Don't need much assurance. Two weeks ago we played Charlton in a similar fashion to how we played you lot on Saturday and it worked well in the first half. Going in level at 1-1. The key moment was Ambrose getting sent off, that brought Charlton to life and for the next 40 mins we were woeful. We were only beaten by Murphy's free kick (and another Bent goal but we won't go into that!).

Saturday gone brought a game we thought we would be :censored:

-raped in, every single fan going thought that if we played like we did the last time we were there then we might have a chance. IMO we played better Sat gone than we did 3 season's ago and came away with less. Am I miffed? A little bit. Is it the end of the world? No. For you see, tomorrow brings a new day, renewed hope but the same passion for the game.

We will, eventually, win a Premier League game under Mick - 17 defeats on the bounce at the moment - but Saturday gone was IMO one of the best games we have played in the EPL under Mick, and for me, against a big club and European Champs is an achievement in itself.
