Have to agree with this. The main problem is, we've got four central midfielders playing in midlfield who all want to be in the centre all of the time. I'm also under the impression that we need a holding midfielder to play infront of the back four. Steven Gerrard can do this but is completely wasted.

If it was up to me, Beckham would be dropped. If Sven must play him.. for gods sake, make him stay on the right because guess what... Gerrard and Lampard are better CM's than Beckham. Joe Cole can't play on the left and keeps cutting inwards. Add this to the fact that Rooney constantly drops into midfield and it's chaos.

We have 11 wonderfully gifted individual players. Unfortunately, Sven is completely incapable of moulding them into a team. :(

spot on mate, if beckham wants a centre mid spot then he has to try and oust out gerrard or lampard. when someone in midfield gets it there`s no one on the flanks or in space, everyones on top of each other.
its up to sven to say keep your shape and it probably needed a result like this to convince the players that they have to.
agree with cisse about the centre mid too, gerrards used to everything going through him but with england he gets a touch every ten minutes. i think there`s a bit of a mexican standoff between beckham, lampard and gerrard who is going to direct the team. before lampard came into the team gerrard was englands best player and doing a similar job to the one he does for us, i think sven has told him to be the anchor to frank and deep down i think stevie isnt overly impressed.

Stevie would have been through into the box at every opportunity which is how he plays best, but as you say hes probably been told not to and let Becks and lampard do that, and it makes Stevie only look outstanding for Liverpool and not England due to these tactics, and another thing, Terry and Neville had knocks give me a break, Sven couldnt lick maureens @rse enough, and had orders from fergie to only play neville one half, so he takes terry off and lampard, Neville cause they are more important this weekend, nothing about us if Stevie got injured, f*ck off Sven sh*t house.

the players have learned that no matter how good you are you`ve got to have shape, and i know glen johnson is a rubbish right back but he was left exposed by beckham something ruthless.
i`m just gutted carragher was on the pitch the night england decide to commit footballing suicide, he doesnt deserve that to happen to him.
james`s decision making is awful, he has no concept when to come off his line or not.

yckatbjywtbiastkamb, BTW I copy and pasted that noway was I gona write it :D  They where exactly my thoughts on jamie, and maybe he does deserve critism over it but sometimes we wear red tinted specs, but one consolation Rio Im worth 120 grand a week let them 4 goals in also, so it doesnt seem that bad does it :)

Correct me if I am wrong but wasnt Glen Hoddle, one of the most technically gifted English players ever, left out of team becuase Brian Robson was in the team.

Many argue that your midfield can really only be built around one genral, and I think its time Sven finally made a brave decision and choose between Lampard and Gerrard and use Carrick in the other postion.

thats one of englands worst defeats in 50 years and in footballing folklore the fringe players like carra and glenn johson will get the blame wether it was their fault or not.
i hope he just doesnt let the dissappointment affect his club form.

hoddle was outstanding on his day mate but he wasnt as consistent as some believe, and to be honest he was easily intimidated out of games and thats why his spurs side were a decent cup side and nothing else.
robson in his younger days was a great player.

Maybe so, but I still believe that England would be better of playing one of either Lampard and Gerrard, because neither of them have played anywhere near their top level for England.

For me there is no comparison, Gerrard any time, I simply think that Lampard is overated, he has no world class abilties.

I still think we need an english manager, weve never had so many good english players in one team for a long time, god knows when the next crop will crop up ???
Its a long way off to the next world cup and I think we need an english amanger a.s.a.p. Why would Sven give a f*ck about England anyway ???
Surely his heart would be with sweden?

Sven will be gone after the World Cup I think, then an English manager will come in, probarbly Mclaren.

It does seem stupid that such a big footballing nation such as England cant produce a quality manager for its national team.

I wouldnt want Maclaren either hes not hard enough, you need a ruthless manager, put the sh*ts up them, most of them are there on ego alone, due to the money clubs have paid for certain individuels, you need a manger who tells them, listen pal f*ck the money your playin for your country now, or will this be the same problem for most countries now?
Big problems in the future cause of these 30 odd million pound players, theres no heart anymore. Thats why the koreans got to the final they earned buttons but their country hosted it so it ment the world to them players, and Guus hiddink is a great manager.
I now realise that not only have big clubs spoilt the footballing leagues they have also put a big downer on the World Cup everyones favourite. :(

i'd welcome the sacking of sven tomorrow if it wasn't almost 90% certain that mclaren will take over. that guy wouldn't know attacking football if it jumped up and hit him in the face.

we'd be keeping the ball in the corners at 1-0 up in the world cup final with 85 minutes to go.
