Imo it's too late for Baros. Where was he in our last 15 games last season? No where to be found on the pitch and doing f#ck all.

He said last summer that a player can't stay too long at one club and that he needs to change clubs. This tells me that he can't commit his future to this club if we offered him a new contract which is not going to happen.

games if you were not getting thw ball from the midfield? stevie G was hopeles in the league for 2/3 months after christmas and alonso was injured.

He may get 20 and he may get 2. It will depend on how many chances he gets and how many chances he capitilizes on but neither me or you can predict how many he can score. Unless you have a crystal ball your arguement is p1ss poor.

if you were a forward, would you not agree that you would have a few games if you were not getting thw ball from the midfield?

Did you watch any of our games last season? Because if you did you would had known that Baros had been one on one with defenders and keepers countless times and almost nine times out of ten he blew his chance to score.

Baros played out of his skin, cause he knew a new striker was threatening his position. Look how he reacts.. top scorer 2004 Euro Portugal....enough Said!

i agree baros was disappointing last season but i belive 4 strikers is essential and baros has looked the sharpest in pre-season, on the base of selling him u look at the possibilties
available this summer there is only owen that is possibley available that could match baros at the moment and if rafa decides to sell and go for another play in different position he'll only have:
Crouch - good at linking up but his turn of pace is not the best yet to see his through scoring ability
Cisse - fast as anything but still not convinced on his finishing, has a great shot but when one-on-one just blow it alot but probably our best striker
Morientes - world class striker and i feel to use all of his abilities keep baros because from the evidence today they looked too hot to handle

Did you see the improvements of baros h'e obviously decided to listen to rafa and improved his runs and his positional play could this be the start of the new no.5

please keep baros rafa

International football is completely different to club level, it's like Biscan playing well in the CL and not so well in the EPL, also the Baros not scoring was up to him and not the midfield, Baros and Crouch are completely different players thus Rafa signing Crouch because "he gives us different options" :;):

Baros is the best all round player we have right now, by a long shot. he's played very well in freindlies to warrant a stay.

If rafa still wants to sell him......Its a sad day!

I am going to try to explain something to you as best as possible in order for you to understand.

Yes our midfield suffered because of injuries, HOWEVER Baros had enough chances to score more than what he scored last season. [13 goals in 44 games] The chances he had when he was one on one with the goalkeepers were thrown away by Baros.

Not only that but the fact that he couldn't get his head up to spot his team-mates in a better position is another flaw in his game. He played with much awareness today but what happened to his awareness in the last 15 games of last season when he didn't score any goals?

Crouch at Soton who have a mediocore midfield scored more goals than Baros. He didn't get any better service than Baros but those chances he did get he put them away and scored more than Baros in less games overall. [12 less games than Baros to be exact]

Baros played out of his skin because a new striker has come? Why is Baros playing out of his skin now? Why didn't he play out of his skin when we brought in Morientes? It takes the signing of Crouch to get him to score goals he should had scored last season when he had the chances?

They keyword in that sentence is friendlies. Why didn't he score goals against Juventus and the rest when we needed?

Look at the chance he had against Juventus in the second leg, he was one on one with Buffon and he blew it. Had he scored he would had made our lives easier in that game. We still went through but non the less him scoring that goal would had ended that game 20 minutes earlier.

That's just one example out of countless others.

Who cares? Had he scored we could had cruised in that game and made our lives easier. His rash tackle had him suspended for three games and left us with no strikers, we had to play with six midfielders because of his stupid late tackle.

I can't be assed wasting my words on you., Baros is a proven international goalscorer. Euro 2004, tops scorer.
He beat all the best strikers from Holland, germany, england, France, Spain Etc etc to win the top scorer.
