Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Just remembered the guy that gave us three points against leeds a few years ago. I thought that he would have been among those who would be leaving this summer just as his mate El-Hadji Ronaldo.

This season i seen to remember that one game (forget which one) but diao was playing right back and was having a poor game (nothing unusual there) but it was a throw to us and carra was having the biggest go at hime and the ball was a few yards down the line and diao went to get it and carra shouted STAY THERE!!!! :D

And then got the ball for him.

I think that was against Soton at home last season.

Will somebody please tell me what the point of this thread is all about ?

Diao and Diouff were outstanding for Senegal in the last world cup , personally I was happy when Houllier signed them . OK they didn't cut the mustard at LFC , end of story .
Are we so small that we take pleasure from pis'sing on players that didn't make the grade with us ? , Diouff may have let us all down with his "attitude" but Diao  hardly deserves to be reviled in this fashion . I haven't seen any instance where he has said bad things about LFC . Leave the fella alone , wish him well , let him go and fu'ckin' grow up while you're at it.

Maybe that was because Diao is primarily a defensive midfielder .
NOT a right back ?

I personally do not hate Diao. He never bad mouthed the club, gave 100% when he played (even though he was played out of position) and did not complain when he was in the reserves. In fact my only knock on him is that he gave balls away (which I think was due to nervousness) and he has not reached his peak. I think he was better than most of the people on this forum think he was. Could still be a good defensive midfielder.

was that against Leeds where he ran the full length of the pitch to get on the end of a cross and headed it into the top corner in front of the kop? I remember watching the game from the Main Stand but can't remember the opponents?  :help

He didn't make an impact at Birmingham because he got injured.

Simply was never good enough. Another who was a good pro and got on with his job and probably gave it his best shot. We gave his former club a handsome sum and offered him a good contract which ofcourse he was happy to sign. Bad judgement by Houllier and the board for giving him the money to do it. Weve had a few like this havent we
