JBG makes an excellent point about the instability that now exists in Iraq, and it is going to continue. It is practically anarchy over there, and more and more people are dying every day.
Saddam Huseein was indeed a terrible man, and had to be gotten rid of. However I would argue that Iraq qill be no better off for several decades. As soon ast the US pull out the country will go into civil war, as the country is segreagted heavily between Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims.
America have gone about this war in the wrong way, as it was based on a web of lies. Unfortunately Australia and the UK as wel las the US have egg on their face now after vehemently claiming that Iraq had WMD.
The worrying thing is that Bush seems keen on destroying this so called "Axis of Evil", which would mean that Iran could be folowing a similar path to Iraq. If something similar occurs in Iran, then you have a very unstbale region on your hands, which could have much more seroius consequences as a whole.
Hopefully lessons have been learnt by Australia, UK etc from this Iraq war and they will not support another war based on the same motives.
