sorry to p!ss on yer chips JBG, but the cruel irony with Hitler is that he was actually born a roman catholic  :rasp

My thoughts on all this? Same as you about the war, changed my mind now that the truth has come out about WMD's

As for Saddam, the world (including Iraq) is a better place without him so to an extent, the end has justified the means

As for the insurgents they do not represent their religion. They may claim to, but in fact they do nothing more than twist their holy book's teachings to suit their own purposes.
Much like Dubya when he preaches his evangelical "good vs evil" bullsh!t

It's not a case of good vs evil, its good vs a minority of a*seholes who hide behind a spurious veil of religion for their own personal gain

As for Israel vs the Arab world I really don't know what the answer is, or indeed if there ever will be one

im only saying what i am from what i heard, same as u lot

i couldnt give a monkeys about the WMD to be honest. my ex is iranian and the things she told me sent shivers down me spine, still does if i think about it. so the war was done for the wrong reason, but it was the right thing to do in my opnion, and i wont hear anything else.

can we talk about formula one again now?

Consider my chips well and truly p.issed on, you are right Wolly.

Most of the Nazi heirachy were Lutheran, and the Nazi's clamped down on the Catholic Church in Germany (particularly in Bavaria) in the 30s, so I assumed that Hitler was not a Catholic.

Soggy urine smelling chips for me tonight then!

.. there is nothing brave about sending in a killing machine.. trained for combat and armed to the teeth with the latest technology in to a country already on its knees.. supporting the troops out there.. is not the issue.. they too are 'victims' of politics...

..of course when Sadam was waging he's war against the Ayatollah in Iran. it was fine ... when these despots do our dirty work for us.. we reward them .. the minute they develop there own agendas.. well..

.. there are many dangerous rulers.. who should be taken out.. look at the holocost that occurred in Rawanda.. over 1m murdered..killed.. where was the urge to restore order there?

...Of course it's all about Oil.. if Rawanda had oil.. we would have gone there.. and if Palestine had oil.. well the zionists would build settlements on it :D .. but seriously.. at the heart of all of this is .. where is the monetray interest.. not the humanitarian one.. if that was the case then the injustice of Palestine would not continue.. nor would Rawanda have happened...

.. what drives a person.. a people.. a nation to support the action of 'flying planes' in to the Twin Towers.. and the carnage that followed.. why do the eyes in Palestine.. Iraq.. and the rest of the middle east not weep for the 3000+ lost in that tragedy.. because for once American eyes were weeping for the loss.. the tragedy. the overwhleming feeling of helpessness.. and to know pain and suffering.. feelings which can be repeated a million times over by those who have live in those parts of the world..  where the Policeman of the world.. has chosen to remain passive..

..The dynastic governments that the west supports.. will not survive.. as Iran has proved.. the house of Saud for example is under threat.. both from fundamentalist and those who are fed-up with the indulgent lifestyles of the royal family... this is the reason the Americans are now based in Iraq.. it's the gateway to the oil.. and the protecion of the Royal family..

.. sinister reasons  and 1000's of years of hatred and suspicion underlie these issues..the fact is that all leader are dictators.. whether elected or not.. once you elect Party or a President.. he effectively becomes an elected dictator.. ..

.. so the crux of it is.. WE ARE ALL DOOMED   :D

The reality of life in this crazy world that  3000+ that perished in the twin towers die every day from Malnutrition and poverty because the world hasn't learned yet the value of true humanity ..................???

Humanity isn't warped by religion or greed or even the "urge to restore order", it's in the heart of man but that heart has become so corrupted, so selfish , so blind that it fails to see the strikingly obvious .....

In a world that is blind , the one eyed man is king :D

.. Rawanda.. does not bare thinking of.. that's how bad it was.. of course we all bring a differing perspective to this debate.. but double standards politics will create the 'killing fields' described here by others too.. what goes round ... comes round..
