but put him against the early teams, see how much more he can progress.
i just like to keep some players for more than 2 or 3 years, and we've had djimi for 5 or 6 now so hes 3rd longest standing player. id just like to see him do well for us i guess. sentimental desicion more than logical one i guess

sentimental it is I think - CL final was typical. I know I'm biased, but even in the 1st half, we mostly matched Milan - except for Traore. In the 2nd half, where he was the left of 3 centre backs, he looked better, but still nearly cost us another goal at the beginning of the half.- I've been as impressed as anyone by his improvement this season, but he's still a squad player at best, and as centre back, not left back. IMO Riise is best in midf, and we cant move JC out from the centre without weakening ourselves in the middle. Steven Warnock might be good enough if he continues to improve, and he will get his chance this season with maybe close to 70 games to be played, but he isn't there yet. So I'd have Evra at the top of the shopping list..............

Heres what we need IMO

GK - Reina

CB - Milito/Ibanez

MF - Hargreaves, Vicente

CF - Kuyt

This is a minimum.  LB is not a priority for now but if we can get evra for a decent price then go for him as well.  I doubt we'll get Vicente, if not then we still need another wide player

i'd go for SWP as number one priority. then buy kuyt (if he doesnt prove too expensive), gallas (if possible) and snap up zenden on a free....

sorted...should be about our budget, strengthening across the team, no 'real' risks taken (possibly kuyt)

Kuyt said he'd love to come here, and his valued at 8 million pounds now, while Vicente says he does not want to come to Liverpool.  On another note Patriock Kluviert failed his physical which may open the door for Milan Baros going to Valencia.

Also as usual newcastle claim that they have lodged a bid for SWP  :D

My offseason goals

Goalie : Reina - done deal

Left Back - Evra/ Milito - I havent heard so much about Evra as I have for Milito, but I've heard only good things about both of these players.

Central Mid (Defensive) -  Hargreaves - I only list him as I'm not sure I could name anyone else who could fill this role, maybe Parker but I'm getting to him.

Utility Mid - Parker - I'm sure we could find a place for him somewhere

Striker - Kuyt - Strong and effective.  Has held up the front on his own and has created nearly as many goals as he's pocketed for himself.

Now I would name SWP, but that may be a little unrealistic.

I think Parker is definetly going to Newcastle. Here he wouldn't start ahead of Gerrard,Alonso and Hamann where as at Newcastle he has a better chance of playing regularly.

I would agree with Ken, make SWP the number one signing. Class player and would allow garcia to play behind the striker if we dont sign one. Reina is a done deal so i would look to add milito and Evra to the team and keep Risse at left wing. Traore is alright but his distribution is poor, squad player at best. If there is any more money left over from sales then go for kuyt.

I havent posted for some time as some of the threads have become very argumentative personal and repitive.

Ive been one of the lucky ones and went to istanpool, what a time, best 6 mins of my life. I was also at roma way back when brucie did the original shakin stevens.

IMO we need a centre back, if milito is avail or possibly(the long haired argie from valencia)forgotten his name sorry,
left back who can firstly defend and is good positionally which unfortunately traore isnt, maybe evra?
left sided attack minded pacey winger, however i do think rafa likes kewell (i think so far hes been a complete waste of money) however i think hes going to be given another season to prove he can get some form back. On the right if zenden is avail on a free i think rafa could get even more out of him, he had his best season in eng last year (as an option hes a good bet as he is comfortable on right or left)

A new centre forward, I must say i dont quite understand the interest in crouch, kuyt however is a different matter i think he could well be the missing link up front, he has pace and poaches weve missed a 6 yard player for some time even owen played deeper in his last year.

So for me 35mil would be well spent on reina, milito, evra zenden, kuyt.

Dont know why i just have this recurring feeling that 1 or 2 signings might be surprise ones, 1 that wont go away in my head is luis figo, rumour is rife in spain he is going to leave with valencia showing interest, he said b4 he would like to play in prem.

Makes a lot of sense to me - SWP would cost a lot, but the whole package would be affordable...............

Why are people saying that we can't afford to make a big purchase like for SWP for example....we're European champions!  We are unlikely to have pulling power like we have right now for another couple of years at least!

Funny how you dont seem to mention Djimi clearing it off the line though !!!
Selective memory me thinks.... ???

Secondly that 'long haird argy' mentioned earlier i beleive is COLUCCINI (spelling?), yea i think he is class seem a lot of him last seson and he had a great game against brazil the other night too!
