Attendences

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Could someone explain this to me
I have just been looking at our crowds for the season, especially in europe

Everton (league) 44,224
Man Utd (League) 44,183
olympiakos 42,045
Leverkusen 40,942
Juventus 41,216
Chelsea 42,529

All these i think were suppose to be sell outs
so how come the figures differ so much?
Could someone please enlighten me as to who decides how many tickets are to be sold and how and which seats are to be left empty.
We are an all seater stadium so shouldn't the figures be the same for all sell outs?

Or maybe its to do with us having to allocate tickets for the away side and them not selling all their tickets??
I dont no I'm just guessing

Seats were actually taken out for tuesdays game and replaced with benches to accomodate the press and t.v. cameras.

Peewee's right, european games for some reason have to have a few rows of seats covered up

Dunno whether it's a safety thing or whether it's advertisers being a bit over-keen that their logo's don't get get covered up with fans' grubby fingers & flags on the advertising boards

Europeans have more hair (think Liverpool circa 1984) and therfore take up more room.

Yeah the front rows for european games are covered with a red sheet and also the ticket allocations must be different. And possibly because there were former players at the game on tuesday possibly they don't count as 'sell outs' but as others say im guessing.

On the euro games you have to leave the first rows empty for clebrating i think. And League ones i think they are becos the away team supporters sum of them have not turned up or they have not sold them out.Just look at the front rows on every game especially aston villa they will leave the first rows empty.

At UEFA games the first few rows of seating are left unoccupied so that the Advertising boards are not obscured by fans leaning over the barriers ???

And who said UEFA wasn't obsessed by money !!!!!! :D
