As some of you may know (none of you WILL know) I never really write on here in the evening, but today I have to.
Im always complaining about the press, as are we all, and about how Liverpool are always getting the tough end of the stick.
All the papers today, broadsheets and tabloids were just concentrating on the Carson ‘Howler’ and not mentioning the skills.
Then I saw this title: Superhuman effort keeps reds in hunt’
Where did I read this? The Liverpool echo? Nope.
The Evening Standard. London’s very own daily tabloid. The ooters actually have something to finally be proud of

Im not gonna type it all word for word, but it’s a fantastic article, and here are a few snippets for you.
“Liverpool are fast emerging as the Clark Kent of European Football. They enter the champions league telephone box as stuttering, bashful mere mortals and emerge as world-conquering superheroes”
What a fantastic opening eh? Wanna hear a little more? Alrighty then…
“Their first half performance last night could have been scripted by a comic book writer as they put Juventus to the sword with a display that reminded Liverpool fans of the club’s finest European nights…
…Inspirational skipper Steven Gerrard played the part of superman to perfection as he delivered one of the most stirring performances of his Liverpool career. One moment he was reeling off majestic passes, another he was whipping in vicous set pieces or he was breaking up Juve attacks with the tenacity of a pitbull”
The article goes on and on in this manner, but does say that the job is only half done, and the second half is where the real work needs to be done.
Im only writing this as I want people to know that not all of London hates Liverpool. Journalist Wayne Veysey is one fan we can definitely count on to rile up the fans in the best way possible.
Come on you reds!!!!
