the first ones were great, especially at the time but these modern ones have got no soul. directors these days think that computer generated special effects mean more than plot and characterization, they havent got a clue.
shows like doctor who and star trek have massive followings worldwide when the sets were ropey as anything, it was the plots and especially the characters that made them cult classics.
the only thing these modern movies have got is hype and wall to wall advertisement.
