Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

After what can only be described as a near perfect performance tonight in Leverkusen you shake your head sometimes and wonder which Liverpool team is likely to turn up this season.

I've watched LFC in Europe for years and this performance probably lies about 3rd behind the 4-1 humbling of Benfica in Lisbon and our 1984 Final win against Roma on their home ground.

You find it hard to find the words when at least 6 or 7 players are vying for the Man of the match such was the quality of the performance.

It's been said before after good wins this season but lets hiope this is the result that we push on from and run Everton down and secure that elusive 4th spot.......

As an aside, Leverkusen were without key players but in morientes, Alonso and Cisse we too have top quality players who would have figured.

Excellent result over the two legs and anything could happen from here.....

Walk on ..........

New manager, new ideas, injuries galore = inconsistency i guess. I'm getting used to it now. Just enjoy the good days when they come and sulk all night when they don't :D

Thats the rub though mate , hand on heart do you believe we will play consistently well for the rest of the season ?

I don't doubt like us all you hope we do but you just can't gauge this team. Its essentially the same team that were humbled at Birmingham .....

Answers on a postcard please cos i'm at a loss to explain it  :upside:

Praise of the highest order!

Stevie was my MOTM and it was great to see. He was involved in everything.

In terms of our run in - it looks pretty good. If we can carry this on - and I KNOW it's a big 'if' we could push on for 4th. 3 points at Blackburn and another against Everton and things would be interesting. We have a lot of 'winnable' games coming up.

You been on the "White Lighting" again :D

I thought you was banned from Bargain Booze

Can you answer my thread question then regarding liverpool's inconsistency ? Don't want to pour water on the flames of Qualification for the last 8 but I can't work this Liverpool team out. its essentially the same team that were beaten 2-0 at brum who then (Brum) went on to get beat by Palace and WBA ! ???

You need to watch "Little Britain"  :D

It could be worse, in the series "Little Britain" the correct character is "I'm the Only gay in the Village"  :D
