so barcelona n chelsea have both climbed ahead of us. Not bothered about Barca cos they r like Real in many ways but Chelsea's actual income (not just by having a billionaire owner) is more than ours, that does worry me

the list ignores transfers and wages. Shows where LFC are messed up. GH has an awful lot to answer for as do the fools who bankrolled him since 2002.

Just goes to show that football has nothing to do with it anymore. It's all down to marketing the brand. Our brand was one of the biggest sporting brands in the world. Now we're way down the pecking order.

just got ,y eurosport magazine. Arsenal and Manchester United both had nearly 2 page spreads, while Liverpool had half a page.

I believe RA has moved a number of his businesses under the Chelsea banner thats why there turnover has jumped so much.

I think liverpool have to seriously look at the marketing size of the game. We all admit that football has turned into a commercial operation. So why not capitalise on our support - especially in Asia. But we can only capitalise on our famous name and history, if we can turn things around on the pitch today.

just looking through that list and something jumped out at me.

we are the only team in that top 10 who weren't in the champions league last year. if we had been i think we'd certainly be higher up, probably above arsenal.

people also need to realise that it is only income. we made record losses last year.

you can add about 10%-20% more for champions league football.

The list above is a reflection of our lack of Champions League action last season.

I think in 2002 we were the 5th richest club in the world.

I think the whole thing about our losses has been overstated. The club usually made small profits or broke even, but last year was hopefully a freak year in that we didn't have CL football, were knocked out of the cups reletively early and getting rid of Houllier and his backroom staff, as well as certain players, cost us £10million. The club insists that it only added around £3million to our debt (we'll see) so we are not exactly talking about Leeds UTD here.

The figures do show the importance of CL money, though.

We'll definitely have an income greater than £100million this season, probably around £110m.

Chelsea's income is so high because they charge such extortionate ticket prices

In terms of merchandising and global appeal they are small-fry compared to us
