In your lifetime?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

do you think you will see liverpool win the championship within your lifetime.the reason i ask this question is this, i never thought after watching the last championsihip winning side, after almost fifteen years we would be waiting for the next. manager after manager, have failed to deliver, millions have been wasted. we have fell further and further behind the mancs arsenal, even chelsea are now well on their way to leaving us in their shadow.every year we are promised so much, but fail to deliver, player after player has been bought as the final piece in the jigsaw, only to disappoint, false dawn after false dawn, and then heart break. a club captain steve g effectively holding the club to ransom, and a boardroom in total disarray.moores and parry grim'ly trying to hold on to power,to the detrement of our famous club, the propossed new ground, that they will struggle to fill if things dont improve quickly.i'm just trying to be realistic.so i ask you again do you think you will see us lift the championship in your lifetime ? because in my opinion fourth place just does'nt cut the mustard.

Same here, I dont think we will.
Good to see someone on here who is realistic.
In my lifetime I can see us winning the odd League Cup or FA Cup here and there, the Premiership and Champions League seems a mere fantasy

" In your lifetime" depends on how old you are, whether you smoke and whether your hobby is superbike racing. In a nutshell, within the next twenty years? almost certainly.

With respect Kenco its a pointless question to pose. It implies that if the answer is No then why am I supporting this great club ?

You know the answer to that one .......

Supporting LFC is NOT conditional on success as if that were the case then scores of soccer clubs would be supporterless ....

In an attempt to answer your Question I'd say definitly in my lifetime but I'll ask you  a question , What are you going to do if it doesn't happen say in the next 10 years ?

Will Burnley win it in your lifetime? Bradford? Barnsley? the insinuation that the prospects of a team winning the Premiership title in someones lifetime impacting upon a persons capacity to support them is a sad thing indeed. Grow up.

If you had asked a Chelsea fan five years ago, whether they could see their team winning the premiership within their lifetime, how many would have said yes? Or Arsenal fans 7 years ago? 10 years ago, how many Charlton fans would have said that they would have seen their team pushing for European football? 10 years ago how many toffe fans would have seen their team trying for the CL? Did anyone ask a Valencia fan ten years ago if their team could win La Liga within their lives? Being a football fan means having hope. What's the point of supporting a team if you don't think they can do anything? If I didn't think that I would one day see Liverpool win the Premier League and regain the rightful title of "The Mighty Reds", I'd throw my shirt in the bin and take up Cricket. I not only believe that I will see them win this league in my lifetime, I know it.

Well you never know, shortly after we beat chelsea in the league cup final this month, you may keel over with pure 'sadness' that we have added yet another trophy to our illustrious history, and then your negative prediction will have come true ffs      :D
