Agreed...sometimes we're all guilty of being too depressed.  Look on the bright side.  Garcia is bound to get it together soon [I hope!], along with Nunez - both of whom have some talent.  Josemi will improve, and become less impetuous.  Kewell will be back, raring to go, full of a new found confidence!!! :D  And Pelle will have tought the defense the finer art of Zonal Marking.

And most of all, Baros & Morientes will learn about each other.

Just pray we don't get anymore injuries!!!

its going to take time to get the best out of all these newer players but at least we're getting more players available and will begin to pull out of the desperate situation of the last few weeks.

Good points raised..

I'm still not too sure about Smicer as I have never been a big fan, But Le Tallec could prove to be an excellent player.

Harry Kewell I think will prove us all wrong, hopefully now he is fit, and a fit HK is a player worth his weight in gold.

Pelle will improve the more games he plays and Nando is pure class.

Things aren't as bad as they first appear..... Lets get behind the lads and watch us climb the table as we grow as a team and as a squad.. and if the worst happens, remember we have made progress and that will continue next year especially if we get the financial backing all the big clubs need to continue to grow.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I am actually happy with the signings we have made and think its best to wait till the summer,We have enough to see us through the rest of the season and still get 4th spot,We will get more value for money in the summer

We have a very important CL fixture early March plus a Carling Cup final at the end of Feb yet have a LOT of players unavailable due to injury.Add to taht the final puish for 4th spot and a CL place for NEXT season. Gerrard may have already decided he's on his way but that doesn't stop us going all out for 4th spot !

To my mind we needed a Central Defender and a Central midfielder at the very least.   :kungfu:

No your not, I was a little dissapointed we never picked up a Bosman or 6 month loan deal !

However, I am happy that we never panic bought any potential rubbish players on high wages just for the sake of it.

I trust Rafa.

I think the majority of fans were dissapointed we didn't go out and get a couple more players but i'm also relieved we didn't go out and bring in anyone just for the sake of it. I figure the boss didn't see anyone out there who could improve the squad in the short term (loan) + there is no money to shell out on players being at inflated prices. I don't think he could have brought in Anelka (as well as Morientes) even if he wanted to.
unfortunately we are woefully short up front for the Champs league game so lets hope Kewell gets fit (even his critics must admit we have missed him) and Le Tellec can make a contribution.

i think people have got to be realistic, we havent won the title since 90 and since then we have been forking out big money to try and recapture the title.
the likes of dean saunders and stan collymore were record signings at the time and add to them all the others like paul stewart, mark wright, neil ruddock, nigel clough, emile heskey, diouf etc. etc who may not have been british records but were all top end of the market prices.
we are lucky liverpool are still in the market for decent signings like morientes coz no other club has tried to compete at the top end of the market for so long without winning the title. people who are quick to slag off moores have got to realise he has backed every manager since then with everything he`s had and even after managers have wasted all that money he`s still not thrown his hand in and settled for a comfortable league position like other traditional giants like spurs, everton and villa.
we`ve brought in alonso, morientes, garcia, josemi, nunez etc this season, thats still a fair few quid.
