they don't know how lucky they are to be able to pull on a liverpool shirt and play for the best team in the world

i don't blame the manager, as he says the team he put out was good enough to win it, but from what i saw they just didn't have the heart.

morientes hadn`t signed when the original tie was meant to be played so he didnt have clearance to play.
i think benitez knows the most critical thing for the development of liverpool is to finish fourth and have a good run in the champions league to try and earn a few bob.
his selection showed that. he is saving his big guns for the league coz he knows if we finish fifth it would knock us back years in both financial terms and trying to attract top players to the club (or to stay at the club.)
its sad but the facts are the financial rewards for winning the f.a cup are slim and there was no way benitez was going to risk his uninjured stars against a fired up lower league outfit on a ropey pitch in bad weather conditions.
if someone would have went over the top on gerrard it would have been disasterous.

Maybe I'm being a bit stupid here... But we have a Premiership match on Saturday, a competition, by the way we need to finish at least 4th in to get into Europe, and have any hope of keeping Gerrard. We also have a Carling Cup match need week. How the fu(k was Benitez to do it using the first team player's only? Can someone tell me?

The FA Cup is not as important as getting into Europe and keeping Stevie G. PERIOD.

Didn't watch the game but I think Rafa will not play that many youngster if not for the number of games to be played within a short time span. Its an understandable decision. Tough luck and we should move on. In order to finish the season strong, we have to play everyone including the reserve. We are not like the Cheski, Arsenal or Manure in which we have astronomical money to spend. We should be proud of LFC and should look forward and not the other way.

Hate to break this to you, but the FA cup dowsnt mean sh!te to anyone anymore, its dead, finished. Bury it. The history of the Cup is a beautiful one, but there is a lot more at stake than this.

The league for 1, needs to be one, first and foremost. Then the Champions League. This is the premier competition in Europe ppl, this is the best vs the best. cant ask for any more. FA and Carling Cups dont mean anything anymore than a rich history. There is nothing to be gained from these except to give the youngsters experience. Get over it. Its not the league or champions league, this means nothing.

Did anyone know what Nunez looked like b4 he came to liverpool, cos imagine Madrid knew nunez was boss, kept hold of him and then just sent any old spainard over from the madrid streets for a laugh and told him were to go and say he was Antonio Nunez, cos that lad weve got isnt a footy player, not even close to one, hes one of the poorest players ive ever seen in the prem and if houllier had bought him hed be gettin a lot more sh!t than hes gettin at the moment.

Had we won the match and the FA Cup at the end many would be saying that the FA Cup is nothing. "They won the FA cup but they can't win the Premier League, so what".

FA cup is no longer what it used to be, it matters little as this sport has become the ultimate business. Good Premier League and Champions League results are Rafa's main objectives.

I have thought about this for a while and would never slag a LFC player without reason, but several players were a disgrace and not fit to wear the shirt we all love so dear.
Nunez and Biscan in particular were awful. The whole display was pitiful and the team selection proves that Rafa although a great coach has a lot to learn about English football.

its a shame that the fa cup has lost its meaning and people are more interested in the league becuase of the money involved. i hope this isnt true

i bet if the toffees win it this season it will be classed as the best trophy you can win, the horrible spiteful ba3tards
