Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 115-1073096938 » Tue Jan 13, 2004 5:05 am

Right we've all sussed out i can argue in an empty room.

The fact of the matter is i don't argue for the sake of arguing. I tend to believe in my opinions and alot of what i see i say. Alot of the time i do believe my opinions are "correct" but i only ever have opinions on something i know about.

You will not here me talking about players and teams i know nothing about. I do watch alot of football, its acutally quite sad infact the way it rules my life but thats just the way i am.

I don't mean to offend people unless they offend me but i often take insults at my team as personal insults, again thats just the way i am.

So make of me what you will. :)

thats fine have opinions i do to.
slag my posts off and everyone elses fine i dont mind that
The only thing i do take offence to is when u have ago at people for the number of games they go to. that is childish,
from being a kid to mid mid 20s i use to go to every game home away europe anywhere.
Now i have a family i goto as many as i can afford and can get to.
probabley like most supporters
still dosent make anyone a bigger or less of a fan/supporter than myself
i will listen to all opinions from our fan base from all over the world

Stu, me and you haven't got off on the best foot, eh?

I think you're as big a Liverpool fan as anybody here and nobody can accuse you of not being passionate!

However, sometimes when people disagree with you you tell them to go f##k themselves, and you have also insulted a lot of non English fans by harping on about how you go to all the games. There are ten times more Liverpool fans living outside of Merseyside than there are in Liverpool, remember that, and these fans provide the club with a lot of cash from merchandising etc.

Keep your arguements to the football and we'll all get on fine! :D

I agree with JBG in this one, were i come from (Belfast) contribute's alot to Liverpool FC, i would say Northern Ireland and Rep of Ireland has one of the biggest LFC fan base's in the world, anyway to get back onto the thing about how many game's we have been to see, i personaly have only been to Anfield once to see Liverpool get beat by Sheffield Wednesday. I remember like it was yesturday, i was shaking so bad because i could not believe i was at Anfield and when we had to go i was the proudest kid in the world because i had been there.

My first ever Liverpool match i seen was against Linfield in Belfast, a day i will never forget, i met the whole team due to some guy parking his car at the front gate, this in turn meant the coach couldn't get in so the team had to walk it up. If my aunt hadn't have been there that day i would not have the autograph's of the like's of Robbie Fowler as i stood gobsmacked with my jaw hitting the floor, i couldn't believe it was happening!

Anyway my point is i have only seen Liverpool play twice in the flesh but it doesn't make me any less a supporter than those who go week in week out.

Here here, Kop1892.

The entire island of Ireland, for example, as well as its ex pats, have provided Liverpool with a lot of great players and fans over the years.

There are also strong Liverpool followings in Norway and Finland, and a growing number in Singapore, Thailand and China.

Football is moving on, and with a side with very few home grown players, Merseysiders have to accept that the modern game is international, and they have to "share" their team with the rest of the world.

How else do you explain how a guy like Djbril Cisse would proclaim that it was always his boyhood dream to play for the Pool?

I agree the support for Liverpool is a global and I,as a season ticket holder and local supporter, feel that our club is richer for the huge world-wide support.I'm sure it's only a minority of very insular merseysiders who want to keep Liverpool for themselves.I value everyones contribution on the subject of Liverpool, whether they attend 1000 games,1 game or no games at all.

Totally.

One of the reasons Man UTD have become so powerful financially is their global support.

As one of the 'old' brigade I too welcome the fans from all around the world and their comments. I am a season ticket holder and have watched Liverpool play all over Europe during the past forty years or so. Most of the matches I have seen have obviously been at Anfield and I have witnessed so many changes at the old ground. But when I started watching the games we couldn't communicate with fans from other countries. Now, thanks to the wonders of cyber space we can. So let's hear your views all of you reds out there - your very welcome! And to all the guys who live locally and can't get to the games for all the reasons previously stated - I wish I could make it possible for you to see your beloved team regularly. You are just as passionate as the ones lucky enough to have a seat on match day. Keep up the support and we will get our team back were it belongs...at the top.

So why do you keep suggesting we buy Boumsong when every man and his dog knows he's signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers?
