Jesus.......

We lose, you moan.

We draw, you moan.

Football is about reaching your goals. Other than Arsenal last season, no one goes through the season without a loss.

Certain players aren't good enough, so you cry. Did the same when Houllier was in charge didn't you? Where did it get the team?

Do you realy think your smarter than the manager who's been in football all his life? Who is there during training. Who has taken side to titles and Cups before.

It's time to understand what the manager is doing. Not complain because of what he does or doesn't do to satisfy you. Who he plays or doesn't play because it doesn't satisfy you.

We have 4 new Spainsh players adjusting to the Premiership.
We had 1 new striker adjusting to the Premiership, until he broke his leg.

We have a complete new style of attacking. But of course the players are to instantly take it on board and in less than 6 months be scoring 5 goals per match.

We have a completely different way of defending as a team. And of course we are to keep 9 out of 10 clean sheets.

We have a goalkeeper who's won Cups for us and one who is potentially "Englands #1"...yet neither is now good enough.

If we hung every player who makes a mistake out on the pitch, we'd be down to our U18's by now.

The goals at the start of the season were to:
Play better football....we're doing that aren't we?

Not be 30 points behind the League leader at the end of the season. We should accomplish this as well.

Win some silverware because that's what Liverpool Football Club is all about....winning things. We'll we're still in all the Cups, aren't we?

Either you have faith in Rafa to sort out what he needs, and btw...he hasn't had much of a chance transfer window wise to change the squad has he? No, but you'll whinge about it anyway. And if he doesn't make any changes in January, you'll whinge about that as well.

It is getting to be a cancer, in my humble opinion, that negativity is so pervasive in forums. It's time to be less critical and more supportive of what the Club means to you and what the manager is trying to do.

Of course those that want to be critical will say that they're only voicing their opinions, that it really doesn't hurt, and what are forums for anyway. To that I say, look back the last 2 years and see where it got us. Supporters convincing each other. Momentum building. And the tide of negativity led to banner at Anfield and paint daubing at Melwood. If you don't back off, then certain players will become the scapegoats. They'll be targeted at Anfield, not just in the forums. And it will effect team performance.

That's why some of Geds "failures" seem to be so much better this season. They've been given a new chance under Rafa because some people didn't want to be negative whilst at the match for the new manager. And look where it's gotten those players. They've played with more freedom because of the support. Not with mental restrictions of if they made a bad pass they'd hear it from the crowd.

Stop and think. Not Stop and spout.....

Just an idea like..

Too right St M and great to see you back

Gutted last night with the equalizer but thats the game and we have to remain upbeat about the rest of the season.  I think we will see additions in January and I think the team will improve and go on a winning run

New manager new system.  If this was April I would start to panick but not quite yet

I will state now that we will be in the top four and we will be a more fluid team in the New Year and all those doubters can copy this and throw back in my face if Im wrong

P.s. Im rarely wrong  :D

TBH I don't necessarily agree with you St Mike. I don't mind when somebody comes on a nd slags the team or a player off, as long as its a reasoned argument or discussion point that allows or merits a comeback. When these tools either start a thread with a four word slag off, or chip in mid-thread with a so-and-so's a faggot type quip, it makes you wonder whats the point really.
On the forum generally, when the missus says to me "why do you bother going on there, whats the point?" I tell her that its like talking football in the pub with a bunch of like minded people. There's one or two on here that I wouldn't bother my ar$e with to be quite honest. They've got nothing to say really.

It's 2 points thrown away, and our league position for December is worse than anyone would have thought. But 4th place is still easily attainable. Everton will not stay in the top four. Middlesborough will fall away.

We've played 6 games in 17 days! At least today we were good enough to have easily won the match. Our structure was good, as was our width. Alonso was spreading the play with his usual intelligence. Stevie gets so much freedom in our 4-5-1 formation. Kewell had a good second half with at least 5 shots at goal. Our defence needs to tighten up and stop conceeding. Josemi and Hyypia especially were at fault for the Portsmouth goal.

Lets see what who we can sign in January. Despite this result I have still have complete faith in Rafa.

alonso and stevie g the only positives to take out of tonight

josemi should be hung

absolutely no real eagerness in the team.

10.58 home early  steward
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

cant believe your arguement hinges on what time i got home, and not on the poor quality of liverpool.

match kicks off at 8. finishes before 10. crowd empties very quickly except for a few foreigners. walk to the car( parked about a 10 minute walk from anfield to avoid traffic), drive home, cos i live in liverpool, unlike the majority of n0bheads on this board.

thats why you didnt believe me, cos you dont normally get home till the next day after you go to the match, thats if you ever go the match you stupid cnut

Totally agree. The Josemi substitution disrupted the game and our concentration. This was yet another c@ck up by Benitez
(the Spanish Turkey).
