it is getting harder to take games like this and still feel that we can take the 4th place , at the start of the year i was hoping that we would get 2nd place and at least get one cup , i still think we will get a cup as we are a good one off game team.

We will finish in the top four but it won't be no walk in the park.

I think so too. All our summer hopes of third or even second have taken a bit of a battering in the past month or so.

lakes get a life m8 no offense, sinking ship talk and all that, i know u are impatient like any of us, but get behind the team cause i guarantee u'll be going they were brilliant if we beat newcastle on sunday, and i hear u guys talking about josemi, it was dudeks error that caused the goal, should of been tipped away for a corner and 1-0 win for us, what is it about liverpool and bad goalkeepers the last few years, since gobbs (hopefully u know who i mean) lol we've had ****** goalkeepers there was hooper lol and then david james, who else im stuck now, oh aye westerweld as well i mean when are we going to get a secure goalkeeper?

4th place isn't beyond us, can't remember who said we wont finish 4th now, but flip sake its only christmas, and a few home wins after tonites game, starting with newcastle and were back on track, but i just wish we could have a full match where we can play brilliant, its either one half or the other, and a couple of signings in january to add abit more, the summer hopefully we can hang onto stevie and get rid of the ******, now if josemi doesnt improve we should thikn of getting rid, kewell is getting better but still not up to the standard but improving so we'll see, traore not enough too unsure and unsteady on the ball, biscan no way improved? yes, good enough for us? no, diao? well dont even need to say, not good enough, diouf bye bye, cheyrou - the new zidane? the closest association hes got with zidane is that hes on loan to the club where zidane started off, someone correct me if im wrong lol, just naming those few, still alot of ****** and vignal as well, hes rubbish, so as u can see its been left with some ****** left overs from houlliers rein, so cheer up everyone, the good times are just around the corner, maybe not this season but the season after lets see where we're at, we're all hungry for our team to do well, but patient is the key, lets give th enwe man a chance

josemi wasn't bad at the start, i dont know whats happened him, confidence? i really dont know

gracia good signing, alonso, well i dont need to tell you how good he is, the thing is though josemi didn't cost a big fortune so if hes not good enough he will be gone, and he wasnt given a huge amount of money to spend on players so im guessing he bought josemi and gracia and alonso as players who he thought were good enough at a reasonable price, thats what i think anyway

but the thing is houllier stuck with heskey for quite a long time, and most of us knew a couple of years before heskey and houllier went that he wasn't anywhere good enough for us, but houllier kept playing him, and thats no the only thing houllier done, benitez at least knows the right positions for players

give it time

its hard to konw what will happen, but i think looking forward to each match they play no matter how they did in the previous one helps you get confident about them, thats what i try to do, shug off the disappointment then get up for the next match which is newcastle, so come on the reds!!!!!!!

Benitez has signed four players, two of them have been briliant two of them have been here and there. Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso have tremendous talent and skill. Josemi has been inconsistant for quite some time now and Nunez needs more time. Nunez is good in the air and he had chances to score today, he isn't horrible he needs more time to adapt to the pace and style of the Premier League. Considering that Benitez didn't even get the same amount Houllier did in the summer, his signings have not been bad.

You keep on saying this but it is also quite feasible that we will maintain our inconsistency or even get worse.

Last night was a joke. I would bet that at least 15 other
Premiership sides would have finished Portsmouth off last night, given the same goalscoring opportunities.

Totally agree. The Josemi substitution disrupted the game and our concentration. This was yet another c@ck up by Benitez
(the Spanish Turkey).

i do support Benitez wholeheartedly. after getting the frustration out of my system from last nights game (now i'm paying heavily with a headache in work, and burps that are absolutely stinking of Donner meat and Garlic, a burning a*sehole etc etc) i can say that overall, what i see from Benitez still impresses the f*ck out of me. but that decision last night i do believe was wrong. not just becoz it was thw rong choice of player, but as you say, it disrupted the concentration.
a player needs a few touches to get into a game. why throw him on with minutes left where he'll be a liability?

it's not the whole reason why we f*cked up, as we should have put ourselves clear ahead, and kept up the pressure. but it was the last contributing factor in "how we lost the 2 points."

Come on Rafa we know you're the man but dont do silly things!
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

Our finishing was profligate and we got our regular bout of collywobbles at the end. As Beni keeps saying we aren't taking our chances - yet they are falling to everyone, last night it was Kewell, Hamman, Nunez and Gerrard and we got one goal. After scoring we defended deeper by about 10 yards and gave the initiative back to Pompey for the last quarter of the game. Beni said one goal wasn't enough - so why did we play like we wanted a 1-0 for the last 20 minutes when we haven't keep a clean sheet for the last 7/8 games??!! I thought we had another goal in us but we passed out way into trouble, losing the ball in danger areas when we weren't even looking to attack...and when we did attack it too often disintegrated on the final pass to no-one or the cross into an empty box. I don't think it's as simple as saying we need another striker (though we do), everyone should have some idea where the net is when a chance is up for grabs - defender, midfielder or striker - and I don't blame Dudek particulary either.
