Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby A.B. » Tue Dec 14, 2004 11:17 pm

Yes Josemi once again was drawn away from his position and let Taylor cross the ball which led to a goal. I'm really getting tired of Josemi, this is the 4th or 5th time we've conceeded a goal because of him. Finnan did a superb job until Josemi blew it all. But Josemi is not the only one to blame, instead of defending the last few minutes we should had been attacking. We made the same mistake Newcastle,Man Utd,Southampton made in their games.

Especially Man Utd and Newcastle. Newcastle controled the game, had chances but couldn't put Pompey away and they let Lua Lua equalize it. Man Utd were better than Fulham through out the whole game and made the same mistake we made today. I think Mellor scoring a last minute goal against Arsenal has opened the Pandora's Box, more and more now sides are scoring at the last minute.

To beat the Greeks in a thriller and arsenal, then get beat by everton and a draw aginst pompey, It makes you wonder what the f#ck is going on at our club?
That was our game in hand, the only chance to get 3 points to go to 6th 4 points behind 4th.
Its so confusing why dont they just finish teams off why not?
Ok new manager new players etc no strikers other injuries but this come on?
We are Liverpool who used to terrify teams, not be a laughing stock.
What do we go for in january  players that cost millions and only play for money?
Or bargain basement that would be proud to put a red jersey on?
Im all in favour of the latter TBH :(
e.g. everton, pompey. nuff said

:( Well, thats as good as we are. Unable to beat Portsmouth at home!!!
Sell the whole fcuking team and get some players who will die for Liverpool fc....
Gerrard acting like God-Almighty-who-but-fcuking-me needs to commit now or ****** off now!!
Let's buy Steed Malbranque........great midfielder, who would be even better with a better team around him

Inconsistency. Houllier in a way is still here for some of these players. Lack of hunger, drive and effort. It's not over until the ref blows the whistle and we let our guard down before the man in the black shirt blew it.

I'm gonna blame myself for the loss. Whenever i watch a live match on tv we always ****** it up.  So far i've seen the man u game live, portsmouth, and tottenham.

New players needed badly. We where awful again tonight apart from a few half decent moments second half. Just hope we have the funds. I still beleive we can get fourth place but we are making heavy weather of it. Such inconsistency. Benitez is a brave man taking this on and will need to be strong to turn things round and meet the fans expectations. Let us pray  :sleepy:

:D Ohhhhhhhh well it its over now just looked at the table we are 6th, I expect boro to go on a downward spiral and everton and villa, what position where we in this time last year? anyone know?
The toon are 12th they havent been that bad for a long time, maybe get some new players in, Rafa gives them a good kick up the @rse and you never know we could get fourth, even tho this isnt good enough a draw to pompey at home.
Probably Stevie will leave we can spend the cash on some good players I can see from tonights team the only player we seen tonight to still be in our squad in 2 years will be Carra.
Because you cant change a leopards spots and im afraid Houillers mentality is still instilled in all of our players.
no matter how much rafa wants to change it.
He even said in the post match interview against everton the team was kicking long balls up the field not even aiming at there target man, this is not what we practice in training.
I suppose they are kicking the ball up there lookin for owen but hes HELLO hes not there anymore :(

Come on guys. Get the heads up a bit. We should have won the match tonight. There is no question about that. It's 2 points thrown away, and our league position for December is worse than anyone would have thought. But 4th place is still easily attainable. Everton will not stay in the top four. Middlesborough will fall away.

We've played 6 games in 17 days! At least today we were good enough to have easily won the match. Our structure was good, as was our width. Alonso was spreading the play with his usual intelligence. Stevie gets so much freedom in our 4-5-1 formation. Kewell had a good second half with at least 5 shots at goal. Our defence needs to tighten up and stop conceeding. Josemi and Hyypia especially were at fault for the Portsmouth goal.

Lets see what who we can sign in January. Despite this result I have still have complete faith in Rafa.
