Way back in the late 70's and early 80's,there was a black lad who would stand on the barrier in the Kop and have his nickname,Jaffa,chanted by the massed ranks around him.His most distinguishing feature was the reason behind being affectionately christened Jaffa,his orange affro hair cut.Does anyone remember him and what happened to him?

i remember jaffa, not seen him for years.

i remember he had no job and used to run everyday, i think he was covering about 20 miles a day in the end. i dont know where he is now though. maybe he went bald and changed his name to malteser

I think he later changed his name to Purple-aki.

What was the deal with Purple Aki? Why does EVERYONE know him?

i know him because i used to be a policeman in liverpool. it was so difficult to put him on an ID parade unless there was a visiting basketball team. he was a big guy

he was chareged with manslaughter beacuse someone ran away from him when he was scared and got hit by a train, i think on the Wirral, he was found not guilty after it was found that it was nothing coninuous between the fear and the chase.

its a legal thing, dont even try to understand it, thats why i went to uni

I was only young then ive learned my lesson, she was fightin with me mate, and me mate had my suit on what was really dear from walis, and it was getting torn to shreds so I tore the girl to shreds :laugh:

3 of us went to court, purple aki in the dock givin evidence it was mad :laugh:

My solicitor fancied me so I got off with it :laugh:

was only 16 :blush:

Would of loved to have been there though, sounds like a right tear up :laugh:
