This is a similar scenario to last year where even some united fans were predicting we'd win by double figures only for the game to end up a tight 0-0 affair. As that game showed we cant afford to believe the hype, we cant just expect them to fold like a pack of cards we've got to go out there, roll our sleeves up, work our ar.ses off, scrap for absolutely everything and make the fv.ckers fold like a pack of cards. Dont just expect things to happen, make them happen. Apparently Konate and Bradley are not only back in training the big fella is actually pencilled in to start which is terrific news, Joe has done well but Ibou is an effin colossus. Cant wait for Connor to get fit enough to start as well, makes a hell of a difference when you have players who actually want to play for you in the team. Come on lads Arsenal are showing a bit of resillience, lets go out and put on a performance that shows the Gunners they are going to need more than resillience, they are going to need a miracle.
I agree, we need a big win to demoralize the chasing pack. Interesting one this, will Amorim choose to abandon his philosophy and park the bus like they did last year or stick to his principles even though he doesn’t have the team for it. In any case we should have too much for them at Anfield.
Last year we lost our whole momentum when Quansah effed up that simple pass against these when we should have been smashing them, that game might have cost us the title. Let's not make the same mistake this season, we must do our best to score as many as we can.
Last time we all thought we'll blitz them, countless shots on goal and nothing to show. I hope we are more composed this time. If Arsenal win they'll be 3 points behind us when we kick off. We need to maintain our gap and snap 3 points.
If we get a goal or 2 in the first half I think it'll be a big scoreline.
The next two games will define our season and can win us the league. It might sound a tad dramatic but I think it's 100% true.(barring a disaster of Biblical proportions)
We win both and we are 11 points clear of the only team that can realistically claim to be a rival for this years PL. That means they have to win 4 more than we do of the last 18 games...let that sink in and the enormity of these 6 points becomes clear.
The weight on the shoulders of the Arsenal players should we get that 11 point lead will simply cause them to cave in - they don't have the mettle to cope as far as I can see.
I hope we absolutely wipe the floor clean with them tomorrow!! They are in rag order atm and they don't have the players to dig them out of it so if we show up I can't see it being any other way!! Also hope I'm not eating those words after it Truthfully any win will do even if it's a scabby 1.0.
21 times we were top at Christmas and going into the new year. A few of those seen us with similar point advantages too but only 1 title to show for it. We know what our downfall is and with essentially the same squad it could happen again so I don't think fans are getting carried away just yet. Still a lot of games to play.
Arsenal winning both Brentford and Brighton away within a few days would have been huge for them, both of those are really tough fixtures. With Saka injured I was expecting them to at least draw one of the two, glad they did draw today because they looked like they might win both which would have given them a huge morale boost and they would have been only 3 points behind us.
Anyway it's up to us to extend our lead at the top even further, no mercy on the mancs tomorrow.
We're good to go today! I can't see anything but a large home win, I'm predicting 5-1. Really looking forward to it, would cap off an awesome Christmas period.
Without being accused of stating the bleeding obvious this is not going to be as simple as a lot of people believe. United and Am-I-Dim are hurting. I remember Hodgson during his extremely short tenure saying that Liverpool were a mid table club. As far as the fans were concerned, this was certainly one of the nails that firmly went into his coffin. Am-I-Dim has stated that united are in a relegation fight. That will have gone down as well with the fans as the Glazers taking another dividend !! it goes without saying that both the team and the manager will do everything humanly possible to upset our season. We need to make certain that we don’t let them.
