In all honesty, the story means nothing to me.

Whatever his choices or the man he is today will never detract from my admiration and love of the player he was for our club.

Along with King Kenny he's one of the greatest we've ever had. 

Interesting and I might suggest blinkered view of the man. But each to his own.

Gerrard's legacy is as a great footballer for Liverpool. I don't think he ever tried to be a figure of morality or be a voice of social or political change. So no, I don't think this tarnishing his legacy at all.
