The crisp butty or bap as we say in S Wales (although Dom would have views on that) was to me a school classic but still nice to try these days

Fish fingers with tartare sauce but must be on fresh white bread for the full effect

When I was 18 a load of us moved to London for work and we used to have pie sandwiches to save money. When I then moved in with my girlfriend twas a culture shock to see how much she spent on food I nearly cried at the till

Back to cheese & jam butties - used to love 'em but haven't had one in years! Reminds me of sitting watchin Grandstand with my dad & brother every Saturday afternoon, jumpers for goalposts an' all that

Before they invented cheese and onion crisps we used to watch wrestling on a saturday with slced onions Dairylea cheese triangles and a bag of plain "Smiths" crisps ,even the salt came seperate in a little blue screwed up wrapper , all washed down with a bottle of cream soda (the green one )
