I was first shocked to find out the Houllier got a 10 mil + payout to leave the club. Now I think it has been absorbed by my brain and to be honest I am Livid. 10 million for not doing the job he assured all Liverpool fans he would do, and that is to give us the championship. He had the money to compete, he had the boards full backing and the fans were behind him (for at least the first few years anyway). No excuses. So why the hell did he deserve 10mil+ as a payout. Now we hear that the club is operating at a loss, and need to buy players (that was before Cisse's injury) and don't really have the money.

I actually felt sorry for Houllier, and even though I knew he had to go, I thought he loved the club. To negotiate so much money, knowing the club had money troubles (especially since we were not often invited to the Champions League party thanks to him) is infuriating. Add to this the the money he wasted buying ****** players, he should be regarded as the worst manager EVER. Anger should be aimed at the board, who agreed to this sh1t. When Rafa found that out, he probably could not believe his luck. What a fantastic club to work for.

I know this is an old story, but I looked for a thread on the subject and did not find it. :angry:

Kazza I think you speak on behalf of most Liverpool fans, it’s a joke. But I don't think the money was just for Houllier, it was to get rid of all the back room staff aswell to start over. But that still is no excuse I didn't think it would cost that much.
