  • "Julio Cruz's stint at Inter could be coming to an end after he was today linked with Liverpool, reports Channel 4.com

The Premiership side are looking for a new striker after they lost Djibril Cisse for the season with a leg fracture.

Cruz is definitely an option for Liverpool given his suitability to the English Premier League.

Inter could also be tempted to sell given the stiff competition for a striking shirt at the San Siro right now.

The former Bologna player is way down the list seeing as Adriano, Christian Vieri, Obafemi Martins and Alvaro Recoba are all at the club.

The Argentine could join the Anfield outfit either on loan or on a permanent basis once the January transfer window opens.

The only possible stumbling block is that Cruz has played in the Champions? League this term, so he would be unable to feature in European competition for the Reds.

Cruz, now 30, has been in Italy since he was signed by Bologna in August 2000 from Feyenoord.

He joined Inter a year ago after the Nerazzurri sold Argentine striker Hernan Crespo to Chelsea. "

Does anybody know anything about this player?

Did really well at Bologna and then got a move to Inter, which i watched him a couple of times. Started really well at Inter but has faded into obscurity there really with Adriano, Martins and Vieri all ahead of him. He is a decent player but would take Morientes over him anyday of the week.

I think he would take a long time to adapt to the premier league and is laready 30 years old, so it wouldn't be a good idea IMO.

Actually if you look again it was LFC#1 who said 'harry kewell from everton'

And you claim to be Australian LFC#1, I'm ashamed of you.  Every Australian football fan knows that Kewell played for Leeds before Liverpool.

back to cruz - seen him a bit and he's good with his feet and his head. I like him as he does seem to score a lot of his goals in and around the six-yard box and gets into good positions. As a temp third striker I would buy him. inter have a lot of options up front and Cruz still gets games (as a starter and a sub) so I think even Mancini still values him.
