It looks ok as an avatar as I think the site has a pre-determined limit for the size of avatars but signatures might be a problem.
I usually log on here at work or at home where I have broadband but sometimes I log on at my parent's house where they only have 56k dial up and it can take absolutely ages for the page to load.
I might do a poll to see how many members are on 56k.

Viewing avatars and sigs can be turned off in account options.It speeds up the site no end if your on a dial up connection.

Yeah, the Biscan animation in a signature would seriously slow the page down.
But like I said before, the avatar is only something like 50 x 50 so it automatically gets reduced. They're no problem.
